Two California men at the heart of a complex multi-state luxury vehicle export scheme uncovered by investigators in New Hampshire last year have plead guilty to federal charges, U.S. Attorney John Kacavas said Monday.

So exactly why is it illegal to sell something you legally own? Sounds like the car dealers will do anything to stop competition...

Moral of the story is that if you have as much money as Mercedes, you can bribe ("lobby") the government to do your dirty work for you and enforce your anti-competitive policies against innocent people.
I wonder how much Mercedes/Porsche paid to the DOJ for this?

That is one of the biggest problems with government today. There are too many career politicians that do whatever they need to do to get re-elected, whether or not is for the good of the people.
