Why didn't the truck's airbags go off?

One of the fatals was not wearing a seatbelt? Why? How do the police know this fact? Would it have made a difference if he had worn a belt?

I often drive that stretch of Redondo, hard to believe the driver could get up enough delta V to kill three people.

The driver was a former loan officer who in recent years was working for a company that goes around taking photos of country club members.

So, why were three middle-aged males riding around together in a pickup truck?

This looks like a case for Tim Grobaty.

The ads for this particular brand of pickup truck brag about how tough they are. But in this case the truck was not rugged enough to hold up in a crash on a surface street and three people are dead. Should the ad agency try a different approach?

I drove past the site of impact this afternoon. There is a fence that covers the approach to the bridge pillar. Did the truck go through the fence and hit the pillar head-on, or did it slide into the pillar sideways? Were there front or side airbags? Did they deploy?

Was the truck traveling on n/b Redondo for a long distance? Or had it just turned from Willow? How did the vehicle build up enough speed for a fatal crash?

The wooden cross at the site referred to one of the passengers as "Hulk." Was he too large to use a seatbelt?

There are over 7 billion people on this planet. Life is cheap. It's not like Steve Jobs died in the crash. Just a few guys, one of whom liked to be called "hulk." There are people crawling out of thousands of vaginas as I type, ready to replace them.
Get your priorities straight, man.
