<quoted text> Education cuts were from the federal govt run by the most inept group of democrats ever not Corbett. As far as gas tax goes. Do you really believe the tax won't be passed on to you and every other natural gas user in the state taking more money out of the pockets of the Middle Class? I really don't care if they pass a gas tax as long as the money is NOT spent on education as it will go directly to teachers unions to pay for pensions and pay raises and not one penny will ever reach a child in school. Keep on complaining but save your tears for election day. You are going to need them when Corbett blow your guy out of the water with a record defeat. By the way how's that 1%er millionaire Wolf doing for you? Did he have your back when he proposed raising taxes on the middle class? Try to find an intellect and make an informed choice before the election.

The governor opposes adding new taxes to fees that drillers already pay, mostly to the counties where they operate. The argument the other side makes, he said, is that the gas is the property of all Pennsylvanians.

“No, it’s not,” he said.“It’s the property owner’s gas. I’m sorry: It’s the mineral owner’s gas.”

His invoking of property rights was a reminder that the governor hews strongly to conservative principles, even in a state that has a moderate tradition. Elected in the Tea Party wave of 2010, Mr. Corbett has refused to expand Medicaid under the president’s health care law, and he has presided over corporate tax cuts of $1.2 billion.

“You can go all the way back to Reagan: Reduce your taxes, you’re going to see growth,” he said.

But it is unclear whether the economy will benefit the governor. Pennsylvania’s 6 percent unemployment rate has dropped 2.1 points during his term. But the state ranked 48th in job creation last year, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. Standard & Poor’s recently scolded state lawmakers for a budget out of whack between revenue and spending. In a year when other states have surpluses, Pennsylvania is facing a $1 billion deficit, for which critics say the governor’s business tax breaks are to blame.

“Tom Corbett has dug us into a hole because he has been ideologically driven to say no new revenues no matter what,” Ms. Schwartz said in the debate.

Obama, 2007: Time to End ‘Deplorable Conditions at Some VA Hospitals’
May 19, 2014

Then-Senator Barack Obama, November 12, 2007:“After seven years of an Administration that has stretched our military to the breaking point, ignored deplorable conditions at some VA hospitals, and neglected the planning and preparation necessary to care for our returning heroes, America’s veterans deserve a President who will fight for them not just when it’s easy or convenient, but every hour of every day for the next four years.”

By 2012, Obama continued to compare the performance of the VA during his administration favorably to his predecessor, declaring,“For the first time ever, we’ve made military families and veterans a top priority not just at DOD, not just at the VA, but across the government.”

Now we know the report of at least 40 U.S. veterans dying waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system is only the tip of the iceberg.

White House says Obama only learned of VA wait-list scandal on TV (just like the IRS, Fast and Furious and reporter snooping scandals)
19 May 2014

* White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said the president didn't know about explosive Veterans Administration scandal until he saw news reports
* Earlier in the day a report emerged showing the VA itself warned Obama's transition team about it after the 2008 election
* Obama and his surrogates have claimed he learned of several other scandals from broadcast or print news stories
* They include Operation Fast and Furious, the IRS's targeting of tea parties and a DOJ seizure of two months of Associated Press phone records
* VA medical centers stand accused of keeping secret off-the-books waiting lists in order to cook the books and boost performance stats
* As many as 40 veterans died in Phoenix when they were denied critical care because their names didn't appear on official waiting lists

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney wound up with egg on his face Monday as he told reporters that President Barack Obama first learned from a TV news report that his Veterans Administration was denying medical care to vets with secret off-the-books-waiting lists.

But new evidence emerged this morning that his transition team was notified five years ago about how VA medical centers' official wait-list times bore little resemblance to reality and risked denying military heroes critical health care.

The Washington Times reported Monday that waiting times at veterans' medical facilities were known to be wildly inaccurate at the end of the George W. Bush administration. By the time Obama's transition team got a post-election briefing from the VA at the end of 2008, scheduling failures were already reaching a critical point.

The newspaper received a copy of that briefing through a Freedom Of Information Act request.

Obama has come under fire before for saying he was made aware of scandal-worthy shortcomings in his own administration by watching television, including the IRS tea party-targeting scandal that rocked Washington 12 months ago and the Operation Fast and Furious saga that has tainted his Justice Department for years.

A great day for the Commonwealth. These ludicrous same-sex bans are being demolished by courts across the country. Lawyers fighting to keep the bans are being humiliated by judges, who are are writing scathing opinions overturning these bans. We're now at 18 states, plus DC, where same-sex marriage is legal, plus another 7 states where stays are waiting to be lifted.

The dumbest move that Republicans made over the past 10 years was getting these ridiculous same-sex marriage bans on ballots across the country. They of course only did it for one reason: to get their core voters extremely riled up so they could get them to the polls in major elections. So, yes, the hateful Republicans who did this won the battle in many states, but their gigantic mistake was that they failed to forsee all the lawsuits nationwide that would not only succeed in overturning the unconstitutional bans, but would, in the process, actually force same-sex marriage to be legalized. So when you talk about a despicable idea completely backfiring, this is the perfect example

And then they'll rape and torture children as part of the largest criminal sex ring in the history of the world, avoiding prosecution by fleeing to other nations and spending billions to quiet the victims.

So, you know, there's that.
