Steve Pearce Tells Furloughed Workers To Take Out Loans To Pay Bills
That's right folks while this tea bagger gets paid while thousands of federal workers are laid off and cant pay their bills, he tells them to take out a loan !!
WASHINGTON -- Rep. Steve Pearce (R-N.M.) has a suggestion for any of the hundreds of thousands of furloughed government workers worried about being able to pay their bills: take out a loan!
In a post on his personal Facebook page that was later deleted, Pearce urged government workers to call their banks and take out a short-term loan if money is tight.
"If you are a furloughed government employee, we encourage you to reach out to your financial institution as soon as you worry you may miss a paycheck," read the post. "Don't wait until you are behind on a bill; call now and explore your options."
ProgressNow New Mexico, a nonprofit group that advocates progressive principles in the state, circulated a screenshot of Pearce's Facebook post on Friday, before it was taken down.

"I'll note that that poll was very heavily weighted with an awful lot of Democrats with an awful lot of Obama supporters and 20 percent of the people polled were government workers," Cruz said.

Boehner Abruptly Changes Strategy Following Outcry From Koch Brothers And Heritage
Last week, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) bluntly refused to bring up any debt ceiling vote in the House without demanding Democratic concessions first, telling ABCs This Week,We are not going to pass a clean debt limit increase.
By Wednesday, conservative powerhouses Heritage Foundation and Koch Industries made room for a new plan when both urged Republicans to approve a debt ceiling increase with no strings attached. In a striking change in tone, House GOP leadership have presented a clean six-week debt ceiling extension that does not include a plan to fund the government.
At a press conference Thursday, House GOP leadership announced the new strategy, one day after Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham admitted the group will give the speaker some flex on a short-term debt limit increase, in order to extend the shutdown over Obamacare. On Wednesday, Koch officials increased the pressure with a letter for inquiring members who have asked what our position is on this issue that claims the conservative billionaires never supported withholding government funds over Obamacare. Privately, Koch officials told Congress a U.S. default would be a disaster.
Both groups have been driving forces throughout the debt and shutdown crises and are responsible for putting Tea Party members in Congress in the first place. Even now, its not clear if the Tea Party that Heritage and Koch helped to create will accept a deal on these terms, since debt ceiling truthers refuse to recognize that default is an economic threat.

Mark my word within the next few days Boehner will fold like a cheap lawn chair from Wal Mart

That is wonderful news that the Koch brothers are all about reducing the deficit! Does this mean they won't give anyone a hard time if a suggestion is made to include a bill that will defund corporate subsidies?? It appears they received $73.1 Million in Federal subsidies (also known as corporate welfare). If the Kochs are going to allow their GOP lap dogs to get rid of that, and the rest of the oil and gas companies do the same, we might just get ourselves a balanced budget!

I look for the action to shortly move from the House to the Senate and proceed along these lines with the Senate once again asking Boehner to name budget negotiators and this time Boehner accepts. That would return us to "regular order" and is the direction we should be heading anyway. What regular order translates into is both the House and Senate pass budgets (already done) and the two budgets go to a joint committee to work out differences. What often happens is that the negotiated budget includes an increase in the debt limit to pay for the spending in the budget. This is the route I now see this going. It puts it in the lap of the House and Senate and takes the President out of direct talks and grand bargains. While a budget is a 1 year deal it can create the framework for future budgets as well, indeed that is why most projections cover 10 years. Look for a budget deal over the next 3-4 weeks that includes the debt increase to fund the budget period. It may require a short CR while appropriation measures are hammered out that line up with the new budget. This will be long overdue. And, yes, it means that the Tea Party has been thrown under the bus. About time.

Exit Ted Cruz, enter Paul Ryan
Sen. John McCain says the Obamacare defund detour may hurt the Republican Party for years to come. The polls show that the damage from the government shutdown has certainly been acute.
The Gallup poll that tracks the approval rating of Republicans in Congress looks like the bend of a hockey stick. At 28 percent approval, it is the lowest since the organization started measuring, and down ten points from last month. The Wall Street Journal poll has an identical finding: The GOP has never been less popular. By a margin of 22 points, the public blames Republicans over President Obama for the government shutdown, a bigger gap than the last major government shutdown in the mid-1990s. Seventy percent say that Republicans are putting their "political agenda" ahead of the good of the country.
Whether this is a permanent condition or a temporary one depends on getting Sen. Ted Cruz off the stage and Rep. Paul Ryan on--substituting a bristly champion of an unpopular strategy that divides the party with a congenial representative of the GOP's traditional views on taxing and spending. That's why House Republican leaders are trying to craft a deal with the White House to reopen government and start budget negotiations where House Budget Committee Chairman Ryan will be the key player.

The Wisconsin congressman is being sent on another rescue missionto save the GOP from Cruzs mess.

That's why House Republican leaders are trying to craft a deal with the White House to reopen government and start budget negotiations where House Budget Committee Chairman Ryan will be the key player. Overnight Thursday White House staffers worked with their House counterparts to find a way to give Republicans cover to reopen the government while not making it look like the president had given in to their demands. House Republicans need some kind of "win" to take to their constituents to prove that this battle wasn't pointless. On Friday, the president met with Senate Republicans to discuss their plans to return the government to full operations.
