What do they say about Reagan at them racist tea bag rallies tea bags? He was the best? Reagan was the best at signing a bill into law making AMNESTY for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. In racial hating tea bag land that didn't happen. Blame Obama for that.

The DREAM ACT by president Obama is by far a superior bill than Reagan's AMNESTY bill, and tea bags know it. President Obama is not white so they must oppose it. The tea bags want to debate using Limbaugh's wah wah wah yapping points. We use truth

House Republicans propose $40 billion food-stamp cut in farm bill standoff:

Collin Peterson, the ranking Democrat on the House agriculture committee, responded in a statement: "The Republican leadership plans to bring up yet another political messaging bill to nowhere in an effort to try and placate the extreme right wing of their party

So, once again, House Republicans passed a budget they know full well would be rejected out of hand by the Senate (Republicans included), vetoed by the President, and/or custom made to drive their approval rating among both the general and voting public into negative numbers. And once again, when given to chance to show they are responsible adults after all in the process of governing, merely demonstrate their irresponsible behavior and ideological immaturity by defining 'compromise' as doubling down on the intellectually stupid and partisan meanness, to appease the GOP's new base's hatred of and abhorrence towards the quaint and once respected notion of good citizenship.

Not that this impeded for barely a moment 'business as usual'--by splitting SNAP from 'agricultural subsidies'(almost all of which go to Monsanto, DMA, Cargill, et al), Congress, the President, the M$M made damn certain that a few obscenely wealthy 1%'ers got their payoff for the chump change they dropped on campaign contribution bribes, and the nearly half of the American public that legitimately qualifies for food stamps will just have to wait until the tea bag rump that rules the House finishes it's hissy fit/temper tantrum to have even a few crumbs thrown their way.

The president can't do anything except talk about the advantages until it is passed in the house and the senate. Once that happens he has the power to sign it or veto it. Till then he has no power. People are dependent on the government because after 12 years of GOP control of the house and senate and after 6 years of total control of the government the economy crashed, guess you missed that. Since then it has been a constant effort to get people back to work and the GOP has fought that tooth and nail. If the dems and Obama had allowed the US Auto industry to go out of business as the GOP wanted, and voted for, we would have about 3 million more people dependent on government. At the same time The size of government has shrunk by more than a million employees under Obama. One of the powers a president does have is in not hiring government employees, Obama has done that. Remember the size of government doubled under Bush and when Bushie waltzed out leaving absolute disaster behind we were losing 750,000 jobs every month.

Working Americans are doing worse and feeling less optimistic as the income gap between the rich and poor gets wider and wider. Four out of five adults are now struggling with unemployment, near-poverty or reliance on government funding. The vanishing of the livable wage manufacturing jobs is a contributing factor to the stats. It seems as if the American dream is disappearing before our eyes.

The study findings come just days after President Obama made new calls for Congress to focus on the economy and to help “rebuild ladders of opportunity” for Americans. The problem is, Republicans in Congress are looking to increase the income gap, not close it.

On June 20, 2013, the Farm Bill failed to pass, when Republicans kept subsidies that supported farms but cut out over $20.5 billion from SNAP. Many congressmen and women are supported by the farm subsidies. Fourteen GOP lawmakers have received a total of $7.2 million in farm subsidies since 2004.

Until 2014, the Americans are pawns. Republicans want to use us to further their message, but refuse to work with Democrats or President Obama to take action. So, until the midterms, we wait. And we just thank, whoever it is we thank, that we hold the Senate and Presidency. And when 2014 comes around, we have to vote. We cannot afford a repeat of 2010, where we stay home because of apathy. We must unify because not to do us is to lose what fundamentally makes us America. The notion that we take care of our neighbor. The idea that if we work hard, we can support our family and give a better life to our kids. Republicans present themselves as for the working man, but their actions prove just the opposite. They are counting on us to not pay attention after election day. We will prove them wrong.

Gop doesnt want to raise the minimum wage....lets keep then at the 47% of deadbaets wanting hand outs...

From care2.com , here are 5 reasons to raise the minimum wage now:

1. It would boost the economy: A recent study by the Chicago Federal Reserve found that raising the minimum wage to $9 an hour would increase household spending by about $48 billion the following year, amounting to a .3 percent boost to GDP. And while opponents warn that a raise would hurt jobs, several studies have shown that it doesn’t have a negative effect on employment and may even help boost job growth.

2. It would lift millions out of poverty: A full-time minimum wage worker earns just $14,500 a year, meaning that if she has two kids she lives at $3,000 below the poverty line. The wage isn’t enough to make rent in any state in the country. But raising it to $10.10 an hour would lift nearly 6 million workers out of poverty.

3. It would help close the gender wage gap: Women make up two-thirds of the minimum wage earners in the country, which is why 13.1 million would be impacted by a raise. Evidence already suggests that a higher minimum wage is related to a smaller gender wage gap at the state level, pointing to a raise as a good way to help change the fact that women make 77 cents for every dollar a man earns.

4. It’s an important racial justice issue: Three and a half million people of color would be lifted out of poverty with a minimum wage raise to $10.10, representing the majority of those lifted out of poverty. People of color are much more likely to work minimum wage jobs, making up 42 percent of those workers even though they make up 32 percent of the overall workforce.

5. Americans support a raise: A poll released on Wednesday shows that 80 percent of Americans support a raise to $10.10 an hour, including more than 90 percent of Democrats and even two-thirds of Republicans, as well as 83 percent of low-income adults and nearly 80 percent of those who make more than $100,000. Voters also decided to raise the wage in three cities in November, and in fact when ballot initiatives include a raise, voters nearly always approve it by substantial majorities.
