JAY LENO: President Obama held a press conference earlier today, and he said he still wants to close the Guantanamo Bay prison facility, but he doesn’t know how to do it. He should do what he always does: declare it a small business and tax it out of existence. It will be gone in a minute. Be gone in a minute! One month! Be out of there!

&fe ature=player_embedded

The wisecrack comes after President Obama has renewed an ancient vow to close the Guantanamo detention bay facility. Here is footage from the IJR archives of President Obama making the original pledge(s).(New writer Michael Miller had to go into ‘the dungeon’ and dig out 35mm film reels and transfer the footage to digital, so we all owe him a debt of gratitude.)

Candidate Obama Promises to Shut Down Guantanamo and “Restore Habeas Corpus”

President Obama’s First Executive “Order”: Gitmo to Be Closed in No Later Than a Year (4 Years Ago)

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

If the Commander-in-Chief really wanted to close Guantanamo Bay, he could have it closed. It’s called “the chain of command.” Instead, what we get out of Obama is a chain of excuses.

The latest polls show Corbett in serious trouble and his latest foot-in-the-mouth comment about unemployed workers only reinforces his image as a cold-hearted and uncaring politician. It's looking more likely that PA voters will break the two-term cycle and make Corbett a one-term governor.

A record 89.3 million American adults are not in the workforce or seeking a job, according to new February jobs data from the U.S. Labor Department.
That translates into 36 percent of the U.S. adult civilian population.
The figure is up from 89 million in January.
The U.S. adult civilian population totals 244.8 million.
That number does not include members of the military or individuals in prisons, jails, nursing homes or mental hospitals.

The U.S. unemployment rate declined again in April of 2013, bringing it down to its lowest level in more than four years.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this morning that 83,000 fewer people were unemployed in April than in March bringing the total of unemployed people to almost 11.7 million.

The labor force expanded during the month by 210,000 and the number of people working expanded by 293,000.

As the unemployment rate continues to drop more people are running out of unemployment benefits and others just give up. These people are not counted anymore. At the rate it's going now the unemployed people will reach the 0% soon. They will no longer be counted by the government yet they will still be unemployed. The governments way of counting the unemployed is very misleading, you can even call it a lie when Obama uses these figures.

"The Serial Backdoor Roth, A Tax-Free Retirement Kitty"
The approach is simple:
contribute up to $5,000/year
(or $6,000 with catch-up contributions for those over age 50)
to a non-deductible IRA,
and then convert the IRA to a Roth.
Since neither transaction has an income limit,
and the non-deductible IRA includes entirely after-tax contributions,
the end result is that the client annually completes the equivalent of a Roth contribution,
neatly dodging the existing Roth contribution income limit while having no immediate tax impact
(since the non-deductible IRA contribution has no tax consequences, nor does the Roth conversion of an IRA whose non-deductible contributions equal its current value).

Harry Reid: ObamaCare Train Wreck Needs More Money!

Not only did Congressional Republicans warn from the outset that the administration’s projected cost of ObamaCare was vastly understated; Democrats are now agreeing with them – before the healthcare law is even fully implemented. One can only imagine what’s coming down the pike.

Despite President Obama’s promise that his plan would not add “one dime” to the deficit, the Government Accountability Office announced last week that it would more likely add 62,000,000,000,000 dimes (or $6.2 trillion) over 75 years.

Obama also promised that “if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan.” Estimates for how many Americans will lose their existing plans vary. The CBO says 5 million to 20 million. The consulting firm McKinsey & Co. says about 30 percent of employers will push workers onto the public system.

Even the AFL-CIO and the Teamsters have started to freak out over the gold-plated benefits many of their members will lose, thanks to the guy they helped reelect.

Proof that you don't give the presidency to a failed community organizer!
