Rockford school district is asking for an increase in their budget through higher property taxes. The vote on this reforendum is nov 3rd. One has to consider the impact on those homes that have no children and seniors who scrape to make their taxes on fixed incomes. The fact is that there are 3, yes count them, 3 trailer parks that feed into these schools. These folks MAY see a miniscule increase in their rented lots while the average homeowner will see a huge tax increase. And what about the kids that are bussed into the district? Their parents aren't contributing to increase the school's budget. Property values sank last year but despite it, the property taxes INCREASED! In today's economy when everyone is tightening their belts to make ends meet, we expect that the school districts must do the same! Let's get rid of the dead weight in administration to free up funds to hire real teachers. Until they do, education will continue to be in jepordy. So get out & VOTE "NO" on Nov 3!!!!! And remind your neighbors to vote or we will be taxed right out of our homes & neighborhoods.
