This guy is a loud mouth do nothing. He sponsors bills that fail, and ridiculous amendments that never get adopted. He talks about cutting State government, but is caustic and obnoxious, no one will work with him. Even members of his own party can't stand him. His claim to fame in this last session was working hard to preserve gun rights, which apparently are under attack at the State level by some phantom force. How does that translate into jobs, or our economy, or lower taxes? Emmer is all hot air.

Of course his bills fail and his amendments don't get adopted, he is in the minority and his agenda is less taxes, less government, and a better business environment so the private sector can flourish. Along with electing a republican governor we need to toss the tax and spend libs in the house and senate. Then and only then will Minnesota realize its growth potential.

How about having a daily update in the paper about who's NOT running for Governor, since almost all of them are! In a democracy everyone votes, not everyone runs. This is the biggest problem with legislators. As we saw last session, too many are worried about face time on TV and not working out problems with the other side.

Anyone who's watched TV broadcasts of the legislatative floor sessions will recognize Tom Emmer as a conservative in competition with fellow Republicans Seifert, Buesgens, Kohls, and Westrom as to who can vent the most meandering, illogical bombast and rage. With two of these far-right politicos already in the fray, what does Emmer think he can do to distinguish himself from them? They all think (?) alike. Maybe the three of them can line up, get hooked up to a blood pressure cuff, and rant about some favored conservative topic--the party nominee can be the one posting the highest reading.

This is great, great news. I can't wait for the campaign to get under way. I just have one question: Who is Tom Emmer?

This guy lives hard, plays hard & likes to reproduce. Nothing charming about him or his "family values". My recollection is two arrests for DWI or DUI since 1979, although one may have been expunged....

I never heard of him. But if the big-government liberals hate him, that's all the endorsement I need.

If your criteria for Governor is who can make the most friends in the Legislature and who can pass the most bills, you have no idea what the intended role of government is under our Constitution. Do some research, talk about issues, and keep your ad hominem attacks to yourself.

If you can't talk about Tom's positions and why you disagree with him without resorting to personal attacks, you have no business wasting anyones time with your intellectually worthless opinion.

Also, did you read the bill about gun rights? The purpose of a bill was to establish the idea that the State of MN would respect the 2nd Amendment if the Federal Government tried to pass Gun Control Legislation without first repealing the 2nd Amendment. Other states also carried and passed the bill.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
