All of you on here are part of the problem. My biggest concern for the upcoming generation is that too many parents want to caudal and shelter their children. So afraid of broken bones and broken feelings. It is no surprise they turn to taking guns to school and writing out hit lists. The children of today have become pussified and it is the fault of the parents. Bullies have been around since the beginning of time and the only way for a hold to stop the bullying is the way we did it in high school and that is throw the first blow and don't stop till he is bleeding or you get your ass whipped. Either way the bullying will come to a halt. This new anti bullying campaign is a joke and it isn't just Marion county Kentucky, it's all over the country. Parents simply need to tell their precious little sensitive children to grow up and stand up for themselves, dry those crying eyes and fight back.

You are right, partly. Kids have gotten to soft. They do need to learn to stand up for themselves in a healthy way. I'm not against a fair flight at all but to often people resort to violence to easily. You called my sister a bad name and now I'm going to shoot you kind of stuff. My biggest thing is that the administration shouldn't promote it. Not that they can stop it completely but allowing it to go on without any repercussions is the same as promoting it.

Back in the early 90's I beat the crap out of my bully. He slapped me in the side of the head while I was sitting in my desk and then sat in desk next to me. I didn't do anything until he turned his head and I lit him up, not letting him out of his seat. It seems crazy, but I felt bad for the poor bastard.

the problem is jeff robbins promotes this behavior! he wants this type of attitude and stacey hall follows this modeling!
we have had students commit suicide because of this kind of behavior and yet we promote this?!

school board needs to act, and act now before more youth are killed!

Yeah when our kids fight back they are the ones to get into trouble? I'm sorry but NO child, student, or player is better than another! If a kid is being bullied, the matter needs to be taken care of regardless of their title! If a child keeps to themselves, and someone "popular" is picking on them, then that child needs the same punishment as any other child would get. Yes it does go one in other schools but this is the Lebanon forum and it stated "Marion County" so we can express how we feel about the school because our children attend it.

Casey County school was sued and some families a few years ago for bullying. Maybe that's what Marion County needs also!

What happens if you are wrong? If it is a situation of ones word against another? From what I remember of school, most bullies didn't bully in front of the adults. If a student is disciplined on the word of the accuser, isn't there a possibility of someone lying???

if it's a popular kid then its overlooked if it isn't a popular kid they are assumed the guilty party because of that and are punished

Just as there as always been bullies everyone has always been different and take things in a different way. There are some kids who are shy in nature and have a hard time taking up for themselves. Of course shy kids make great targets for bullies. Not sure there really is an answer to stop bullying in schools.

As always, people are looking for the easiest target to blame. Is it possible that maybe there is a parenting problem and not necessarily a school problem??? How about when the school catches someone bullying, the parent gets in trouble? Start letting some parents spend a night or two in jail and see if these kids will start towing the line

I really can see them locking up a teacher because their child is the bully,can't you? I don't think they will.

I don't see that it really matters whose kid it is. Teacher, police chief, judge, deadbeat, or even YOU. Won't take but a couple and kids will straighten up

This has nothing to do with Marion County schools but its an example of bullying.
Just this past Friday a 13 year old girl from Louisville shot and killed herself. She was buried yesterday. I won't post her name for privacy to the parents but it will soon be on the news. She had been bullied by several boys and a couple of girls from what I understand. Just an hour before her death she had received a text from one of the boys saying he was going to create an "I hate (her name)"facebook page. The parents had been to the school on previous occasions and nothing was done. Just now I believe the kids have been suspended and of course the case is being investigated. And charges could follow.
And of course there was the case in California where the young lady hung herself. Kids and parents need to be held responsible.

I have to agree with you "Mom". PARENTS need to be parents, watch what your children do and be involved! There is lots of bullying going on at MCHS and Lord knows Stacey Hall is an idiot and is only concerned with the popular students and jocks. It is up to the parents to make sure it gets reported, go to your school board member and give them the facts. Maybe then Hall will get fired before one of our own students commits suicide because of bullying at school! It happens EVERY day.

This is just my thoughts. But the blame is on both. Schools and parents. It's the schools fault for not doing anything to the bullies. It's parents fault for letting your child be a bully. My kids were taught to treat people equally and if they didnt they would have been punished. They were also taught to stand up for themselves and if they couldn't come to me and I WOULD. I wouldn't have thought twice about showing up at school for the first meeting. The second meeting will be at the bullies house! My kids weren't scared to take a stand but there are some who can't and they shouldn't have too. Adults should help them out.
