IT'S a group of italians that immigrated to kentucky from the old country. because several generations have been raised in kentucky, they have lost their italian identity in the way of diet (they love cornbread and all southern appalachian foods) but still retain their penchant for revenge and violence as their ancestors did.
moral of the story is - dont EVER steal a piece of their cornbread or you WILL find yourself swimmmin with the fishes in the ohio river.

Johnny Boone was one of the main members. There was an article in Maxim or some other men's magazine a few years ago. Johnny got an honorable mention in the article. It was about marijuana cultivation in the 70s & 80s.

Johnny was metioned in pot's up magazine and named the "godfather of grass". Who's big crop do you think they just busted in Springfield last week. as far as the Cornbread mafia goes, they are still around. It was a ring of cultivators in this area that distrubited pot to other areas. the book was suppose to be out 2 years ago but something about the content, the publisher wouldn't print. Most of them that were in jail have been out. they are still out there just not as highly in public view. If you want to know google the cornbread mafia.

My mother bought a house from a woman whose husband was in the mafia. Of course he went to prison, i'm not sure if he has been released yet or not. Not all of them have. After we had lived in the house for almost four years, we started having trouble with the septic system. We had it cleaned out and you wouldn't believe all the bags of pot that was tightly wrapped and sealed. They had been clogging the system and finally after all those years they finally were discovered. It was crazy! That happened back in 2000, i recall.

i'm sure they were some good ole boys and in the 70s & 80s alot of people were doing this illegal activity. But there had to be a better way. How could you sleep at night knowing that the Feds could be busting your door down at any minute. I'm sure that many were showoffs and ruined it for themselves. How you gonna live in Raywick in a trailer & drive two luxury cars & not work? The goverment is always watching YOU. Obey the law! kids!

"cornbread mafia" sounds like a group of overweight men who crash fast food joints & buffets. You know like a group of fat girls are called a "twinkie posse".

the mafia is still entact. just because they're not as mainstream anymore doesnt mean they dont exsist. you can still be buried in loretto if you mess around with the wrong old man.
