Everywhere has too many family's that abuse welfare. This is a nationwide problem my tax's paying for someone elses milk, cereal, and juice.
I don't mind paying if poeple are trying but in most cases they are not. If people would work and contain the number of children they have this problem would not exist.

Maybe China has the right idea one child per household. As Americans maybe we could add some retrictions. AS American's we exspect are kids to be taken care of instead of exspecting ourselfs to take care of our kids.

Let the hungry eat thier own young. Welfare should be terminated immediately. If a parent can't financially support a child, then the child should be taken and provided a home with the many that are ready, willing, and capable of being parents. The government provided assistance is no different than that of drug dealers. Establish a dependency and then exploit the hell out of it. Addiction is wrong in any context. Those of us working for our existence are dreadfully tired of providing for those that aren't worthy or deserving. Stop all gov't assistance. That would be a real motivator.

This is what needs to happen. Drop all government assistance. Either get a job or die. That simple. The strong will survive and the weak will be weeded out. In turn the strong will have children who through evolution will get stronger. Thus getting rid of all weak people in the process of fixing our economy. Anarchy is so beautiful!

I'd LOVE to see the Gov't do drug urinalysis on all welfare, food stamp recipients.... those that FAIL are DENIED !! I'm tired of seeing people sell their food stamps for (drug) money and then cry that their children are hungry. Hello??? Have you ever heard of BIRTH CONTROL? If you can't take care of them, stop having babies!? Ignorance breeds ignorance.

Everything can use a tune up. I would have to agree to an extent with Fed UP W/Freeloaders there should be madotary drug testing for government assistance, you fail you lose! We all have to pass drug tests for our jobs/money so why shouldnt they have to?! It would weed out a lot of druggies and free up a decent amount of assistance that could really be used to help the senior citizens. There is no morals in todays youth they think "what the hell I'll have a kid with so and so and the government will foot the bill, put food in my government apartment while I kick back and smoke a joint while the state pays for day care so I can sit on my fat lazy ass!"

Well said.... do away with welfare altogether and make them do like the old days...go to courthouse and get your box that contains food... stop the stamps and writing checks to these freeloaders...make em work and pick up trash on roads, cut bushes, clean the streets, anything... don't these people have any self respect....these damn holier than thou people who favor handouts ought to be made to go out and work with em.

When you said dumba$$ that means you can't discuss the subject intelligently. Nobody can control where they are born but that is no excuse for failing in life. I know people that have been born into extreme dirt floor poverty and made a success of their life so your argument is very WEAK. You made some good points but the name calling ruined your whole posting. Try next time by leaving that out and you'll get heard.

I have read alot here lately about how tired people are of the welfare system. There are alot of problems but the only way it is going to change is if people start going to their representives and put the pressure on them. they are the ones that makes the rule. If you don't like how it is ran...then do something about it. yes...it is unfair i.e. college students but that is because most of them have meal cards. but still not fair to those who don't. so go do something about it...don't just complain!!! But I will say this...there are alot of people trying to take care of themselves and are having a hard time...that is what the system is for. And the elderly...they need all the help that us as tax payers can do to help them. They have worked their whole lives and paid into the tax system.

I think most of you are just pissed off cause the government wont help you! Stop worrying about everybody else and take care of yourself! You cant change it so leave it alone. I know a few people who are on food stamps, and they dont abuse it.

It was a GREAT system when it was first set up cause that ws when people didnt take advantage of it . they worked when they couldnt make it they asked for help for their family no shame . now too many are simply using it as a hand out and not a helping hand up to get on your feet when too many do that and the outgo exceeds the income it ends and i think we are getting close to that point

Well, I think that if someone really needs help they should be able to receive some sort of assistance for maybe like 6 months provided that they are trying to better themselves, if after 6 months they still need the help then give them an extra 6 months. But, don't just let them stay on it forever. About, 10 years ago I was receiving food stamps myself, but only for like 6 months but, I still worked and when I found a better paying job I no longer need them. That's just like public housing its there for people to get started in life not to get start and live there forever I think with all government assistant programs there should be a time limits. People who abuse the system makes it hard for the ones that really need it.

They have put a time limit on drawing checks. I think the time line is 5 years. it maybe be shorter than that now. If you have a child 12 years or older and you don't work 20 hours a week you have to volunter 20 hours a week to draw them.

your such a stupid bastard i cant believe you figured out how to turn your computer on. when people get desperate they turn to other methods of survival like looting, stealing, and killing for the things they need. do you want that in your back yard?
