it is still too far away for rapid response, The US Government will never secure the border the way it needs to be, we need to follow Morocco and other nations.

Border Patrol,
Notice the words.
Patrol:noun, in this case a group of law enforcement personnel that are assigned to monitor a specific geographic area.

Border: in this case an adjective denoting a defined geographical area, ie. the boundry between the United States of America and Mexico.

Lordsburg, a New Mexico municipality located approximately forty(40) miles from that Border.

No more on yer duff stationbound Feds needed like in Alamogordo(even farther from the border) We don't need another station miles from the border, filled with REMF's and people waiting for their four wheeler to be serviced.
Hey DHS, get the hint?

Get them on the border, capturing illegals and shooting druggies. Don't need 'em in Lordsburg, or in silly checkpoints imitating National Socialist troops from WWII "B" movies.
ON THE BORDER!

If they can't hack it, we can replace them with some National Guard troops presently on undefined mission in Afghanistan, they know what to do.

Sam, have you ever played football or do you watch enough of it to understand it?

If you understand it, have you ever seen a defense put all eleven players up on the line of scrimmage?

To leep it in your limited football POV

If you do put only 3 players on the line, your chances of getting burned deep are pretty slim.

But with a 3 man defensive line, your offense is are always guaranteed of getting those 10 yards for your next assault, soon you have the defense against the goal line hoping you do not score....
Bottom line no football team plays you game, but the federal government sure does, and the results speak for them selves, ILLEGALS 100 - GOVERNMENT 0

Bottom line is you always have someone to play free safety. Do they get burned on occasion? Yep. Just play the game.

Some one, not some 7.

Any old cop around the country can snag the ones that'll slip through, we have no shortage of cops, but Border Patrol, needs to patrol border.

Well the Border Patrol needs to do something.
A little known problem that may cause future problems is the number of viglantes that have een moving to the border by the thousands each month of American Civilism border watchers and if the Border Patrol does not act, we might just see many more scirmishes occur on the border, after all the Cartels are already claiming they are finding dead bodies of thier commrades they are claiming that american vigilantes are hitting them with sniper fire, and this could blow up into a full border war that will claim the life of more than we can already deal with.
I already have several ex-GI buddies that are now living in camps on the border that have volunteered to watch the border and I think they are crazy and can cause more problems, but then again i down deep inside admire them for trying to defend out Country.

Yeah, and any old Border Patrol agent can issue a DWI citation to a person they suspect of driving drunk, right? That's why we have DPS, Sheriffs dept., NM state police, etc.

All specialize in enforcing certain laws. That's is not to say that any of the aforementioned officers couldn't do a border patrol agents job, it just means they are not authorized, and vice versa.

Actually no JS,
They are not all specialized, they all have different jurisdiction. Most based on geography, some based on the type of crime invloved, some based on the category of individuals involved.

We have millions of illegals lawfully stopped by every year by Joe Cop all over the US for a lot of different reasons. If I pull you over for speeding and you have no drivers liscense and investigation shows that you are illegal, just turn them over to INS for deportation. No need for the Border Patrol to fart around hundreds of miles from the border for that. That is the gripe the Federals have with the Arizona law. The Arizona police departments can (and will) catch way more than the Federals will in AZ. That is an embarrassment to the Feds and removes their justification to expand in size and scope. The political masters are not interested in preventing illegals from coming in. Dems want more votes cheap, and the Reps want cheap illegal labor, BP and INS want justification to expand so everyone can get to be the boss eventually and get plenty of pay, bennies and retirement. When AZ catches them, they can't cook the books on the numbers and hide the magnitude of the problem any more either.

Keep the Border Patrol patrolling the border
