This is aimed at hopefully opening the eyes of some very kind hearted parents& grandparents who have exhausted their physical & financial means to re-raise adult children. Please before you go spending more money on bail that you shouldn't have to keep putting out in the 1st place think about this, as long as they are in jail they will be forced to get clean. You've done everything you can to try & help them get sober, you raise their kids, pay their bills, give them money & buy into every sad story they give you saying their going to change but what you don't realize is you are enabling them to continue this cycle. Even if they get a hold of drugs in jail which some of them do while they are in there, with all the incarcerations think of how few they are that die while they are in there. Their chances of sobriety is better if you let them suffer & LEARN from their mistakes. Why should you have to spend all your hard earned money & savings to keep paying for mistakes. I have quite a few friends just like i'm sure everyone else in this county has that has been addicted to drugs & got threw in jail. Their families spent their savings on trying to get them rehabilitated just so that as soon as they got they got right back into trouble(usually worse then the last time). I'm not talking a few days i'm talking months let them stay in there, they are going to get 3 hots & a cot they will be bored yes they will but they will be alive & they will have to learn to help themselves & get off drugs

bless you guys. i don't live there anymore, and hardly ever get back, but i have lost two brothers to drugs, and now have lost contact of a sister that has CHOSEN that life. our parents have long been gone, but they never had anything to get us out of trouble in the first place, but my mom did try. i dont know what to say about the area. i love and hate it at the same time.

It is terrible what this place has come to, I mean a video that was done about our town and the name of it is "Oxyana" well that's something to be proud of! I can remember when there was a time when I lived at home that we never even locked our doors, they were always open, whether we were home or gone, there was never a need to, now if you walk out into your driveway it almost pays you to lock your front door. Drugs have taken over our small town, ALL age groups, it is not only in our high schools anymore, our grade schools are seeing the same things. I love this place, I have always lived in this area and I feel like this is home, I just wish something could be done to clean up our streets, help these people get off drugs, it's just terrible!

Amen, couldn't had said this better myself,LOL. I was just saying this same thing to someone today about how all these pill heads wanna live off their parent's and blow their money on drugs. This generation of 20 and 30 yr olds are unreal. There are still some good ones in that age catagory left, but they are few and far between. Most of them refuse to work, sit on their asses all day, living off their parent's or someone else, and drug it up 24/4 basically. If they do have an income, it's either welfare or SSI. I mean what is it with the stupid government handing all these SSI checks out to these young lazy asses?? I guess the government wants to keep them stupid and dependent on them, that way they can control them however they want to!!

I agree with all of you. This whole place has gone to hell. My brother drives my mother crazy. She never has a peaceful day because of his drug problem. No amount of talking or pleading with him helps. She always gives into him to get him out of her face. What he has put his mother through, not to mention the rest of his family is a damned shame. Drugs are ruining so many lives. Wish there was something that could be done.

If you don't mind my asking, how old is your brother?? If he's 18 or older, then the best thing for your mother is to get the hell away from him and out of this county and state if possible. I've seen so much of this and the thing is, when the parent leaves the druggie son/daughter try to tag along with them. They simply do not wanna be responsible for themselves in no way, shape, or form. Here are adults that refuse to grow up and take care of themselves and want to live off mom and dad, or whoever else will keep them up!! It's sickening, it really is!!
