Why was OCEANA and BAILEYSVILLE girls. Playing. Their ballgame at Westside? I heard it was so coaches from westside could check out players from those two teams? Any truth?

Thats what we heard, if so I think it wasn't a good way to check them out. I know a lot of the Oceana girls and quite a few of them wasn't given a chance to play at all. Some of our girls didn't play because of being sick or having to set out for some reason. If this is true I think parents from both schools could complain.

Both of you are wrong. Teams are allowed a certain number of games and each could play 1 extra game in their schedule. They chose a neutral site and played. Big deal. The coaches already know what talent (or lack of) are at each feeder school for Westside. That one game will make no difference in the ability level of the kids or tell the coaches anything they did not already know.

The grade school girls got to play a game on the high school floor. I was there and heard those kids talk about how great it was. Let the kids have some fun and stop trying to turn everything into drama.

I guess your idea of fun is different than the kids. If they sit on the bench all the time, with their coach telling them to improve, all they are improving at is Bench w girls for the large part arming. I had thought of bringing my daughter to Oceana to school, but I hear it isn't any different there. The grade school and middle school coaching is sure different than high school. The high school girls promote teamwork and winning for their school, not working on how many points they cab rack up for themselves. Our girls for the most part play well together, but the Oceana girls are out for themselves they don't know what teamwork is.

How do you know the Oceana girls are just out for themselves? These young ladies are learning the game, they work hard to improve and they have inproved so much. If you knew any of them you wouldn't think they are just out for themselves. Please keep your mouth shut, if you do not know what you're talking about.

It is the same on every towns topix. Someone is always bitching about the coaches or the girls basketball team. Everyone is not good at basketball face it. If you kid doesn't get to play enough you cry the coach is bias. Put your kid on the team and leave them alone. If you are going to complain so much do go to the games. In other words "STFU!

Well well, all of you people need to take a step back. My daughter plays on the Oceana girls team, I go to every game, and she is damned good. I have sat behind the girls and seen the coach pass by other girls who are good. He runs my daughter to death and leaves others sitting. He always tells them to improve, improve improve, I don't know what he wants them to improve on, sitting on the bench? He should play every girl every game and let them improve. They need to learn team work, and sportsmanship, and believe me they don't have it. It is a few out for a few and I have been to all their games. So unless you know whatis said to them or your kid is one of the players you don't have a clue do you?
