My families have life long roots here in Florida , from the tip to the bottom and it was before Florida ever started developing. There is a right way to growth and a wrong way. The greed has out weighed the correct way. We all saw what happened when the ignorance of the dams were put in place down south what it has done to our EVERGLADES. Besides the natural beauty, some of our wildlife was put on the extinction list. Now today the Federal Government (us) have to spend millions of dollars to TRY and put it back to normal. We know that it may be hard to but not impossible. When our springs started being capped was another MAJOR blow to our natural waters that flowed just so Developers could profit. Alot of these developers should be the ones to help pay it back instead of the Tax payers. With the developers being so intelligent as they seem to think it makes one wonder why we have to resort to these type of issues at hand today. Desalinestations are one alternative to this solution as posted before along with the earlier developments of the cistrene system. With the St.Johns river being only 1 of 2 rivers that flow NORTH in the WORLD should and WILL never be tapped at any area from top to the bottom. Any City,County,State or firm/Developer that does this should held accountable in the way we hold someone for Treason. This is one part of Mother Nature that needs to stay intact to preserve our Natural Resorces at any cost for Future Generations to come. Besides being a Sacred River, The Government needs to step in to see that this type of Destruction does not happen to ensure the Sanctity and Quality of life the Natural Wetlands and Rivers give us to Love and Enjoy in more ways than the way we take for granted.
