Bicyclist hit and killed on bike path

Vicki was my aunt and she was a wonderful woman. She always found a way to brighten a bad day. For those of you who find it funny to criticize and make this tragedy a joke, go and get a life! Don't go and assume it was her fault and if you don't have anything nice to say then keep it to yourself. She never did anything to deserve your rude and heartless comments. To you she may just be another "speed bump", but to her family she made life worth living. People don't realize how many times this happens a day, until it involves you. Take a moment to realize that anyone of us could be next, so live life not to the fullest.... but live it with the utmost respect for others because when you are going through tough times those who you respected will respect you.

It is a very sad thing and she was indeed a wonderful lady. I met her on the trail several years ago and we have often run together. At times we would run and enjoy the company and other times we would talk about family,friends and other folks on the trail. We never scheduled runs together, we were just on similar time frames and enjoyed each others company on the times we happen to link up. We both had injuries that slowed us or forced us to bike or walk but it was the running we both enjoyed. We stopped and talked a few minutes the Saturday before.

My runs are not the same as I think of her and the tragic ending to the life of a great person.

She will be missed by a lot of us.

What a terrible thing to say. Don't you know her children are reading these comments. The speed limit was 25 mph.on that street. The driver had to be going faster then that because of how far she was thrown. At 25 mph she might have had a chance to survive. There also is a crossing sign there to alert drivers to watch out for people crossing just like they have in school zones. Also, was there a witness to the accident or is the police taking the word of the two people in the accident car? The driver of the car didn't see her at all before she crossed? Was she invisible?

I have noticed when riding in bike lanes along major thorough fares that some people are hostile like they scream out to startle, honk their horns and drive very close as if they want you OFF the road.
Long-Distance Bicycling in other states was not like this.

How about we put your body out there and pave over it, you are so incosiderate and rude. You don't even know her or her family, and the least you could do is be somewhat sensitive. So please if you can't say anything nice, take her grieving children into consideration and don't say anything. Because they read these comments and people like you are what make things worse.

I can't for the life of me understand
how people can be so mean.Obviously this woman was very familiar with this trail so this tells me she was distracted for whatever reason.If she was a careless person this would of happened to her sooner don't you think??This is a horrible tragedy for
both families involved.For the people that feel the need to leave the heartless comments, to bad you dont get to watch her beautiful son ride his bike to school everyday like I do knowing his mother was taken from him at 8yrs old.You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
