I still wait for your evidence.

The "common" sailors in Columbus' little fleet were not afraid the world was flat.

The Vikings were not afraid of a flat world, nor were the sailors of Cheng Ho's fleet.

The Basque sailors who went to the Grand Banks before Columbus were not worried about a flat world, either.

Were they stupid in the past?

What shape is the moon? What is the shape of the shadow on the moon?

What is the shape of the horizon when viewed from the shore?

The tomato example makes sense when on considers that the leaves of the tomato plant are poisonous to humans.

The example of the lack of literacy is a canard. One can see the moon, one can see the shape of the horizon.

Just because evidence exists that educated people knew the world was round is not evidence that common folk thought it was flat.

Simple logic as well as an understanding what is, and is not, evidence.

I have never asserted that "everyone" new it was round. It is well known that anyone who thought about the issue knew the world was round.

I will try to give a real simple example to make my point.

Just because the geography teacher at PJC knows that Africa is not a nation, but a continent, is not evidence that "everybody" in Paris is unaware of that fact.

While it is a statistical certainty that some (perhaps many) in Paris think Africa is a nation, that does not mean one can say "People in Paris think Africa is a country." There is simply no evidence of that at all.

I hope this helps to clarify your thinking.

Republiscum's WAR ON WOMEN codified into the GOPUX platform in Tampa this week.

"Todd Akin clarifies he's on the same page as Paul Ryan on 'forcible rape'

...Paul Ryan also co-sponsored HR 3, the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion" bill in which Republicans tried to redefine rape so that it only applied to "forcible" rape so those fake rape victims would stop exploiting loopholes to cash in on fabulous gifts and prizes.

Republicans pulled that part out of the bill so everyone would stop criticizing them, and then they tried to sneak it back in anyway." KG

Is this really a surprise? The billionaires that are the GOPUX are happy that their fat, wrinkled, old, white, uneducated, lower class male minions believe that a woman's womb is government property.

It gives the perverts something to think about every night before they go to bed...alone.

Obviously the Ryan's aren't having any martial relations as he hides from his wife in his office and she doesn't appear to be pregnant often even though Ryan is 100% against any kind of birth control.

Weird.

Yes.

The Romneys are just as weird with ****face Ann the MS faking misogynistic creep orders the wimp around like one of her mangy sons. Did you get a load of her carrying him around 'like a papoose' on her jet ski?

The issue is all about economics! Lets see how the parties measure up.
Pedro Santa-Clara
Nova School of Business and Economics; National Bureau of Economic Research
(NBER); Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR)
Rossen I. Valkanov
University of California, San Diego (UCSD)- Rady School of Management

Pedro Santa Clara and Rossen Valkanov Concurred that the democrats fared better than the republicans by a wide margin. Democrats had consistent above average returns. Most Republicans had lower than average returns and greater volatility.
Santa Clara and Valkanov attribute the difference in returns to the stock markets being systematically and positively surprised to discover that democratic polices in a 80 year time frame of quantifiable data, are the best economic stewards for the nation. Differences are substantial.
Democrats had a respectable average return of 9.6% as when compared to republicans 0.58% average returns. If an employee’s 401[K] plan was fully invested in stocks at a value of $100,000, at the beginning of the employee’s 40 years of labor, apply this to both parties for returns.
Republicans Nest egg would have accumulated $224,375.
Democrates Nest Egg would have accumulated $ 3,912,210.
Now at $5,000, initial nest egg investment.
Republicans Nest Egg would have accumulated $126,027.
Democrats Nest Egg would have accumulated $1,985,526.
‘The Presidential puzzle; Political Cycles and the stock market” Accessed December 14 2011 http://personal.anderson.ucla.edu/rossen.valk... and the journal of finance, Vol.LVIII, no.5October 2003
In addition; http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/state... Nobel Prize Awarded site
Which supports Debt To GDP figures. Last 4 years of Bush attributed 20.7% to debt to GDP. Obama of the 3 years has a Debt to GDP of 15.1%. A reduction to debt of 5.6% in spite of all the sabotaging efforts’ of the republicans.{ Hostage/Ransom} scenarios.

Some of the republican socialist programs?
Welfare payments to [for 1 example of many] the oil companies that paid zero taxes,[2010] Received tax Returns for each. Into the $ Millions. Demand welfare payments [subsidies] into the multibillions. If we do not pay, they will “SHUTDOWN” the USA. They demonstrated their hostage ransom ideologies on more than 2 occasions.

Jobs Bills in last 2 tears from republicans with House majority, ZERO. Now tis the season of Window Dressing for thee republicans. Oh how hard they work to produce 30 job bills that will not get across the yard before their lopsided failure and their 33 bills wasted on recall to waste the time for addressing the JOBS issue and our economy.
Mitt will Not show his IRS Tax information! Mitt does Not know where his monies are ! Mitt does NOT know how it is invested ! Mitt does Not know when he quit Bain ! Well Americans know what all these KNOTS add up to, and it is Not presidential material.
Failed to complete application for the job of president. Just as he did for governor.

Republican senators “stood firm with Mitt Romney and his 1 percent lobbyist friends” when they successfully filibustered the Bring Jobs Home Act yesterday,[July 19 2012]. The bill would cut taxes for U.S. companies that bring jobs and business operations back to the United States and end tax loopholes that reward companies that ship jobs overseas.

Stupid liberal, conservative buffoons, or a die hard of either ilk are the ones with their heads so far up their backsides that they can't see daylight. When people speak of conservitives or liberals they act as if those two words are profanity. Well they aren't on some things I am very conservitive. Religion, free speech, gun ownership, the right to assemble. These are my rights. On some things I am very liberal, Religion; you have the right to worship or not as you choose, gun ownership you have the right not to own one, and the right to gather and speak out against those things I believe in. You've heard the old saying, I may not agree with what you say but I will defend with my last breath your right to say it, or your rights end where they begin to step on mine. You will find very very few people who are completely conservitive or completely liberal. Most of us land somewhere in the middle.

Just remembered defiant you never answered my reply to your comment. Perhaps your comment was just more tolling excrements. Here it is one more time..
Defiant what are you babbling about now? Trying to B.S. KPR employee’s. Your accusations with no substance or explanation on FEMA’s detentions? Is this the same Federal Emergency Management Agency that your Rick Perry pleaded for $6 Billion from Obama to save them from the Fires. Then turns around and says he will never accept money from the FED’s? Then he takes the money and uses it to balance his disastrous budget shortfall and hires on government employees to window dress his employment records for the run for president? Is that the agency you are referring to? How does that relate to detentions?
DARPA again no explanation of what you are suggesting? Just blah, blah. The Defense Advanced Research Project is R/D of the military. Some projects presently they are under taking; Robots to compete in the desert for their ability to circumnavigate obstacles. Winner receives $2Million . How about their discovery of how to fight fire with sonic sound. How about their research on unmanned vehicles. How about their research for producing solar energy for $ 3.50 a Watt ? Whew and much more. You have a problem with that?
HARP, Government Affordable Housing Plan, Low income housing. What is your point there?
RFID, Radio Frequency Identification that tags and identifies objective news and information as well as tracking your every move. Something to hide do we? Hmmm Just what is your point?
You briefly touch upon how the Germans of WW II gathered information on the Jewish communities and those that are not favorable to their cause. Are you suggesting that Chase Bank of France hiring of IBM to come over and give them a hand in identifying their clientele and customers is similar to how today’s information gathering is the same? Perhaps more accurate yes. Same goals are you implying. One little difference; You do not have to partake in their info gathering. They have little interest in hermits. Not a hermit. Then oh yeah they know you no matter what avatar you choose. From the cronies, through the governments, why even unto us lowly commenter’s can access information on you and all of your probable selections you will be making. Why even as we comment they are watching. So what’s your point?
Soon the entire world will be transparent via their cultures and individualities. Just as all your comments and mine are being evaluated and those interested in communicating with a particular organization or individual will have a site to go to for whatever dastardly evil goals they may have for you. Here is where the Good, the bad and the ugly come on stage for you to choose from. Simple deductive observations of your thread of comments dictates what your choice will be. Welcome to the Matrix.

Ryan would kill Medicare. He'd replace Medicare with vouchers for retirees to purchase insurance, eliminating the guarantee of health care for seniors and putting them at the mercy of the private insurance industry. That could amount to a cost increase of more than $5,900 by 2050, leaving many seniors broke or without the health care they need. He'd also raise the age of eligibility to 67. Hate to be 55 again with that hanging over my head.

Oh no I just said a naughty word {Progress} the ss nhr defiant will paddle their boat there, to attack that terrible word that republicans so detest.
You see republicans like to change definitions of words. Like Progress, Investing,…RAPE!
Ryan is an anti-choice extremist. Ryan co-sponsored an extremist anti-choice bill, nicknamed the 'Let Women Die Act,' that would have allowed hospitals to deny women emergency abortion care even if their lives were at risk. And he co-sponsored another bill that would criminalize some forms of birth control, all abortions, and in vitro fertilization. Sources take your choice;

Hurricane a coming..
Ironically as the republicans convention Winds up, will their Freudian slips be amplified with the Winds of a Hurricane once again approaching our shores. Could this be an Ominous warning of what they represent. Republican Hurricanes have been plaguing our Main Street USA since 1970. Last one, hurricane Bush, damaged our Main Street USA to the tune of $11 Trillion for repairs. Hmmm
Farewell: what’s your take on this... Hmmmm
How long will it take to make all clean up and repairs? Hard to tell with all the sabotaging efforts that the republicans continuously advocate to our Main Street USA.
Republicans are exhibitionist of a no, no, no leadership party. Observe when Wall Street was bailed out. They partied and rewarded their executives, with $ millions of tax free dollars. Same executives’ that FAILED our economy. USA rewards failures? Elitist Welfare?
Main Street USA gets one lump of coal to sustain them through wintry Christmases.
Now Nov. 6 -2012 comes rolling by, we hear from the Cronyism from their fortress on Wall Street…BAH HUMBUG.“Let them die. It will reduce the surplus populace”
