DCOL of Longview is the least equal opportunity employer you can work for. Wages are not equal for equal job. Not based on merit only who you are and who you work for.

Welcome to the real world. It is that way most everywhere. Where have you been living?
But then again, there are alot of people whom are lackluster. They want the paycheck, but not the work. Alot of people don't get fired, when they should, because the employer has pity for them. Alot of people are just not promotable. You may function well in a cubicle, but not with the public.
So, is this you. I find it hard to believe that the DCOL is this way as it is a decent size physician practice. Maybe, you have just gone as far as you can go with them and it is time to move on.
If you don't like where you are at then why don't you have the guts to leave and go somewhere else? I doubt anyone will hire you for what you are making there for if they would I think you would have already have moved on. Quit looking at the employer as an excuse for your shortcomings. Look at where you are coming up short and fix your problem. Then everything else will fix itself one way or the other.

Since you obviously have no idea what you are talking about I will enlighten you. Reguardless of me and wheather I'm promotable or not has nothing to do with the unfair work practices. Once again people doing the same exact job are being paid less than others with lets just say closeness to there bosses. Why not ask people that work there to weigh in. The pay scale depending what area you work for the exact same job range from 11 - 17. They have lost many good employees because of this. As far as hiring for what I or anyone else makes most everyone pays more than them. Unfortunately they just have the control in Longview since every phycian group in Longview has joined them(and it wasn't for the betterment of the town or employees) Most feel they can't go anywhere else since they live there. And since you don't know me you can't speculate on the job I do or don't do. But I obviously know which side you work on. Most Practice managers don't want to be confronted about there practices because then they have to come up with excuses for why so many wrong doings. Have a great day!

I'm so sorry that you are a disgruntled employee and yes I do know about the DCOL and the healthcare situation in Longview.$11-$17 an hour, oh boy you must be an LVN, that thinks she's an RN, but really thinks she's a physician. To educate you, as you are clearly out of touch, the physician groups have been forced to join together to fight the lowering of their reimbursement in medicare, medicaid and PPO plans. As independent practitioners and as small practices they cannot maintain their rates, which is partially how you are paid, so they had to form larger groups to maintain reimbursement. On average physician practices make about .60 on the dollar in a PPO contract. Do you want to be paid .60 for each dollar you are suppose to be paid....I didn't think so, so why should they? Medicare and Medicaid…reimbursement is a joke maybe .40 on the dollar. You must be one of those individuals that has bounced from job to job so many times no other place will hire you. In Longview, there are a couple of hospitals, a number of independent physician practices, ancillary provider and more, so I find it amazing that you feel you have no other recourse than to stay where you are at. Clearly you know little of the healthcare field or you are lying for the general public that reads this for sympathy and to try and discredit the DCOL. In addition, the drive outside of Longview to other area healthcare facilities is short, so what’s your excuse now? Obviously, you are just not performing up to standards to be promoted and paid as much as the others around you. I'm glad to be confronted on any issue, as it will be quickly resolved where I work. If you don't like where you are working then the answer is simple, leave. No one wants a complainer around. You’re obviously one of those people that think you deserve everything yet you put out minimal effort in what you do. If you were as good as what you think you are other medical practices would have no trouble in knowing who you are and trying to hire you away. This happens all the time. That’s how people come in at the same position as you and are paid more….HINT. People can also work in one place, at a similar position and may be paid different pay scales and that is for a variety of reasons; degree, longevity, "prior experience in certain medical area," need and more. Clearly, if the DCOL thought you to be a valuable employee then you would be more to the top of the pay grade. They evidently do not think that much of you from your forum statements. Every practice loses employees over many issues. In case you have not noticed there are far more people looking for work than there are jobs. So, if you are as great as you think you are turn in your resignation tomorrow and apply at another physician group, healthcare facility, ancillary provider, etc. But, if you are as good as you think you are you would have been made an offer from another practice because of your expertise and work ethic and would not have to look. Thus you would have never have become a disgruntled employee with a sob story on topix. At the $11-$17 an hour pay that you are talking about you must be an LVN that thinks she’s a RN, whom of course thinks she’s a physician. Drop back into reality, your just an average person clearly doing a below average job and that is why you are broadcasting your sob story on topix.

OMG, you are so full of it. No, I don't know who you are on this forum, but I probably do at work. I work there and I know better. There is a ton of opportunity there for those that come to work on time, put in a full day, and do their job. There are of course people there that want to float around and look important and put their job responsibilities off on other staff members and sluff off as much as possible. Those are the people that are lagging behind on wages and I'm sure being watched, spoken to and then terminated. I suspect you are at that point or probably one of the more recent terminations. Is this true? This is probably the reason you have written your complaint here. Like the person writing as practice manager said, if you do not like you job then have the guts to quit and go somewhere else. Your excuse of there not being other jobs in the Longview area is a bunch of bull. There are tons of jobs in healthcare, but if you have a poor work history, as it sounds you probably do, this is probably why you feel you cannot get another job locally. I've been approached by two different practices to hire on within the last six months. Put in an honest days work and you won't have these problems.

This is so sad. Honey it is clear to all of us ready your posting that you are the type of employee the other people in this posting are talking about. They are right. Since when do you deserve a job or are entitled to a pay raise or anything else? This is the United States. Earn what you are worth. If you don't like where you are at and think you can make more money somewhere else then go. People that gripe about their company, but yet stay there are usually the lazy, good for nothings, that drain a business dry because they want to be in charge, but not responsible. Perhaps the company is trying to tell you without saying it that you need to go. If others of equal status are making more money, etc. it is clear that the company does not think you are an equal performer otherwise you would be where you think you should be instead of being at the bottom of the barrel.

And people wonder why they get fired, laid off, etc. It's because they are whiners and do not do their jobs. This is a prime example. Hopefully this person got the axe. I'm going to send this to the DCOL for them to look into.

I'd fire the crazy person named True if I was in charge. I agree, screw em, if they don't like where they are working then they need to get the hell out. If they don't have the balls to leave like True then they ought to be found out and fired.

This crazy person better learn to appreciate their job. There are alot of people that would like to take that job away from her as that is a good physician practice to work for. I'm one that would do it in a heart beat.

How very funny of you all to post under different names! I want fall into your little name calling world. Apparently you are a little upset that people would dare question a Practice Manager! Aka for no education, worked your way up from the "bottom" up. Ha! You obviously all live in the same bubble and have not talked to any of your employees. Because believe me there are none that I know of happy to be there. This is the way all people of your character or lack of, respond. Instead of addressing the issues you go on the attack! That's fine with me I can take it. But unlike you if I wanted to be any of those things I would go to school and do them. Not spend all my time being angry as you apparently are. You keep believing your doing a good job and live in your fantasy no skin off me. But the facts remain you still have many unhappy employees and all your bravado want change a thing. And by the way I have never been fired from a job in my life and want likely be now! Have a good day:)

Reading all the posts here I realized that most of you must work for DCOL. Most of you can't spell. That's exactly the kind of people that DCOL hires. I also know without a doubt that most of the people who work there are incapable of doing their jobs. Some of them, I would say are just plain ignorant. I will never use a doctor that is associated with DCOL because of the incompetence of the employees and the management. I am not a disgruntled employee or someone who bounces from job to job. Just a citizen that used doctors in the past associated with DCOL.

Btw....DCOL values NOT one employee. I personally know for a fact that one particular office within the DCOL kingdom has not had a raise, even a cost of living raise, in 4 years.

To practicing manager......DCOL has a very high turn over rate. I've done the research. And you really do not know what you are talking about when it comes to DCOL. 11-17$ an hour is not the median or average salary. DCOL likes to hire patient care assistants, who have little or no training, in place of nurses. These unqualified people give shots and draw blood. I know a girl who had one week of training as a personal care assistant before she was set loose to work side by side with a doctor. So when DCOL replaces nurses with personal care assistants the wages paid are under $11. The girl I know makes $9.00 an hour.

This is what ETMC and other medical facilities do.$11-$17 is for an LVN dear. So, why are you surprised. If you don't like where you are working go somewhere else if you are capable of doing so. Most of you that like to bitch about your jobs have changed jobs so many times that everyone knows you are losers and do not want to hire you. As for practice managers, many have college degrees and have successfully done the jobs for years in order to get hired. Since you are under this position I can only take it that you are even less than what you think about the people above you. Hope you can comprehend that.

As a former practice manager, I have a college degree, have made over 100K a year and have done very well. I don't know your limited education and skills sets, but clearly they are below mine with your lack of knowledge in the healthcare setting. As for the employees, if they do not like where they are working then they need to have the balls to pick up and leave and not be a whining bunch of aides/LVN's/RN's that want to play doctor thinking they know everything, as most do. Most need to shut the hell up, do their jobs and be grateful they have a job. Otherwise they need to go and see where their little "technical" degree will carry them. Clearly not far as they are all staying right where they are at otherwise they would hop to a 100K job tomorrow. Face it, your all just a bunch of glorified butt wipers

Well, I'm glad someone finally said this. These people all walk around in scrub suits acting like they are doctors when they are the receptionist, aide, lvn, phlebotomist and maybe an RN. They all want to be the expert on everything yet went to their "tech" school as you say for 6 months, a year or so and now think they are an "expert." Maybe that's why they are making what they are making. As for the expert citing you on a mispelling, if you have enough time to go through a paragraph and look for mispellings you must not be bright enough to have an intelligent comment. I look at these things once in a while as the people here get so emotional over nothing.
