How is foul play not suspected? Did he die of natural causes and just FALL into the river at age 44?? Gross.

Foul play isn't suspected because there isn't enough evidence yet to reach that conclusion. It may have been a suicide, an accident, or, yes, foul play. But without the medical examiner's report the police just don't know, hence the "further studies." Here's a thought: let the professionals do their job before jumping to a conclusion.

I would have thought his body would have floated further by now.
Must have been alot of ice on the river for him to travel such a short distance

This was a very unfortunate news story. When a story of this nature is reported, there is not enough of an update in subsequent news reports. Sometimes they don't even mention something as awful as this so people are left hanging.
Please follow up on reports with every subsequent stories so the public are aware of what is going on....

"GLASTONBURY, Conn.(AP)- Police in Connecticut say they've identified the person whose body was pulled from a river last Sunday as a 44-year-old Massachusetts man who went missing in January.

Glastonbury police say the man was Marc Acconcio of Longmeadow, whose body was found by two fishermen in the Connecticut River near Point Road Meadows. Authorities don't suspect foul play, but the medical examiner is still trying to determine how he died.

Longmeadow police told The Republican of Springfield that Acconcio was last seen Jan. 7 walking toward Forest Park. They said they worried Acconcio might hurt himself.

Police in Massachusetts searched the Longmeadow area for two days with dogs and aircraft, but couldn't find Acconcio."
