If "cat lovers" each could witness a cat attacking a helpless baby bird or animal, they might change their minds.. The cat will carefully avoid killing the prey too quickly so as to prolong the incredibly cruel sport of clawing and biting and torturing the victim, until at last it stops screaming and gives up the struggle for life. The humane thing to do for our precious wild creatures and the unwanted and usless feral cats would be to declare wild cats legal prey for shotgun hunters and to pay a bounty for each to cover the cost of ammunition.

Neutered kittycats still kill.

If you care, quit reading and posting and actually do something to help.

Legal, silent, humane, and far more responsible than wasting taxpayer money on TNR that could instead be going to homeless Moms and kids. With practice, reliable headshots/instant kill out to 20 yds easily.

In Idaho, Yes. On Long Island? Never.
This is actually the only way. Extermination. Eventually, they will attack a child on the beach. Then we will do something.

They should be as worried about the Illegal Alien population on Long Island.

A pair of breeding Illegal Aliens, combined with their reproducing offspring under optimal conditions, could exponentially produce up to 1,000,000 Anchor Babies in seven years.

Who's going to pay for that ?

And talking about the beach, who likes seeing Illegal Aliens up in the dunes "Bush Whacking" over their girlfriends, wives & daughters ?

I'll take a ferule cat over an Illegal Alien any day !

The "Feral Cat" people are composed almost entirely of people with emotional and mental illness. The problem here is that we pander to them instead of eliminating the feral cats.

Wait a cotton pickin minute...State budget not settled, congestion pricing about to take a nose dive...clinton's top strategist, the president and CEO of one of the top PR agencies in the country gets fired, and newsday gives patrick whittle the cover with a story on stray cats and birds? That confirms it. news in this rag just does not matter.

Shoot the birds, run over the cats, and that solves the problem! And then apply the same to our dear new friend, "The Donald"

I personally believe that there needs to be laws with cats. JUst like dogs, they arent supposed to be with out a leash or running the around yard to yard. No one likes it when a dog craps or pisses on your property! Then why would I want a cat to do the same thing!!If people would notlet there cats out to run the neighborhood, there wouldnt be so many homeless cats. All they do is mate and next thing you know there a more running around. Here is a sugesstion, Spay your Cat or dont let him out!! Less birds will be killed!! Problem Solved! Also Iam tired of them digging and shitting in my garden!!!!!! Its not their damn litter box!!!!!!!!!!

Wild cats can literally ruin an entire ecosystem. These "animal rights" activists are on the wrong side of the fence here. They are merely nothing more than a product of a typical urban/suburban upbringing and have no knowledge of how an ecosystem works. Blame the careless people who let the original cats go, because these cats need to be destroyed.

I'm personally a cat person, but I think that the birds aren't getting a fair chance to life. I don't think the cats should be euthanized or harmed because of their natural instinct, though. I'M CONFLICTED!!!!!!!!!!
