Hopefully, the LBPD won't sweep this one under the rug. Our youth need to know the truth and the dangers of taking their lives for granted. My God bless her soul. RIP Holly

I agree with "so sad" someone needs to step up and get the truth out there about what really goes on in long beach instead of keeping it secret. 2 young kids dead within 10 days, such a shame, We can only hope that people learn from this, my heart aches for there familys. RIP HOLLY AND KEVIN

what happened?

Kevin died though from an accident. And they said alcohol and drugs weren't the cause. I heard Holly was something else, but not what it was. She was in a bunch of my classes in the high school since we were in the same grade, and she was a real nice person. It's shitty.

This is the 2nd OD in one month I'm hearing about in LB. It scares me to the core. LB needs to have a community meeting to address this. Our children are dying.

Yes, heroin, it wasn't in the news because long beach keeps all the bad things secret

Wow when I said these things people jumped all over me, guess it is personal. Hate to hear someone doesn't like me....NOT. Glad to see people are opening their eyes. A shame indeed. And accident? It's your story.

Holly's family is having a memorial service on Roosevelt Beach this Sunday, January 17th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.

Be there if you care. I'm sure her family would appreciate the support.

It is so sad what happened to these beautiful souls. We are all on the same page that things go on in Long Beach and it is not publicized. We have to consider the families but on the other hand we all talk and really know what happened. These teens need to be watched and loved better than they are. There is way too much underaged drinking go on. Just go on facebook and you will see all these youngsters drinking doing drugs and oh yeah beer pong. Parents need to step up and take responsibility. Yes Long Beach sweeps it under the rug because they want to protect the reputation. Adults don't buy beer for youngsters, know what is going on at your house at all times. Teach them it is not okay to drink. Holly was a beautiful girl I am in shock this happened to her. Kevin was a great guy. We all know now thru these 2 loses to hopefully choose right than wrong! Get help if you need it, reach out to someone, Adults be a parent not a friend!

You know if Fallon, Kevin or Holly were from anywhere else but Long Beach, their faces would've been splashed on the cover of Newsday.

Long Beach Police and the schools don't help our children by hiding all this information. In fact, they are hurting our kids. Stop spoon feeding them. They can handle the truth.

Judy Vining at the Coalition for Underage Drinking better broaden her horizons. Lately, it appears that heroin and prescription meds are the killers.

I agree with "concerned parent". We are not our children's friends. They have enough of them already. Get tough, ask questions and check up on them. Teenagers are great liars.

We can't place the blame on the police and schools. They have programs in place to try and help these kids. I understand some kids come from broken homes that's why they have social workers, guidence counselors, psychologists at schools to try and help but we need to take responsibility as parents, aunts, uncles etc...I'm flabbergasted at all the facebook pictures and comments about drinking and drug use. I once was at our Middle school during the summer and there were a bunch of underaged kids bringing cases of beer to play beer softball...They all came in there cars and were ready to drink and play. I'm a mother of 2 young children and I am going to do my best because they are my responsibilty to make sure they head in the right direction. We are a very strong community (I am from LB ) and we know what is going on and we need to come together and lead our kids in the right direction. We have crack houses, shootings, prostitution just like every other town and I do understand why they don't publicize it in Newsday etc...
