Again if its not posted at the ramp entracnces and which it isn't how are people dummies? It looks like u might have personal issues with having pets .... Sorry for u... Sounds like people need to fight in court. Animal control is doing nothing but wasting tax payer dollars sitting on the board walk with there sunglasses on looking to give out summons for walking a dog. Real work guys !!
Ok im a dummy. I did look and yes they are posted every 100 yards or so.

I was walking off Pacific Beach about two weeks ago when a resident was walking her dog on the sand near the bathrooms. She let her dog relieve himself and then kicked some sand over the urine and she walked off the beach toward her home. I didn't stay quiet and told her that that was disgusting. That is why dogs aren't permitted on the beach - because the owners are irresponsible.

As a proud dog owner I agree, Long Beach is very unfriendly when it comes to dogs. Yes, unfortuntley irresponsible dog owners who dont clean up after their pets are not helping in the matter, but as for the previous posters remark on the dog that urinated in the sand, I hate to tell you but as an avid beach goer there have been PLENTY of times I have seen young children pee in the sand (and even some adults) so to think that the sand on the beach is "urine free" is completely dillusional. How do you think someone would react if we told them they can not bring their children to the beach b/c of the messes they make? Long beach has so much beach I personally dont see an issue with making one or two beaches "dog friendly". If othr beach towns can make it work, why can't we?? Fire Island seems to be doing a good job at balancing it, maybe we should take note.

Perhaps you should use your head. People don't want to take walks on the B'walk and step in a pile of your doggies doo-doo.

I go jogging early in the morning and see plenty of UNLEASHED dogs on the beach, and bwalk.

This is a HEALTH hazzard to beach goers, who sit in the same sand or walk shoeless in these areas where their dogs are running.

Aside from that, why are these dogs running without leashes?
There are leash laws too. LB could make a ton of money enforcing these laws....just head down to the beach in the early morning!

Dogs should NOT be allowed on the boardwalk period. They should triple the fine for bringing them there, We do not need to have our boardwalk filled with piles of CRAP so that we can't walk run etc without dodging the mess that they leave.
Also the people who walk their dongs on the lawns of others should also be fined triple what they are doing now. There people are disgusting and should be fined up their wazoos.

That is exactly why they are Morons. They are inconsiderate, and make it bad for responsible people.
Keep the dogs and their shit at home, we don't need it on our streets, our lawns or on the Boardwalk. PERIOD

What's with all the dog haters? Owners love their dogs like children and we love for our dogs to have fun. Dogs are happy when they can run on the beach and smell the ocean air. We want this for them. Yes, people are jerks and don't pick up so I see why the rules exist. It does ruin it for my family who live in a house on Shore Road, but have to take my dog all the way to Atlantic Beach to run free. Long Beach is very intolerant and it sucks. As for all of you people calling dog owners morons for wanting to bring them to the beach, maybe you should look into getting a dog. They enrich your life and make you happy. With all this negativity, it seems you need some happiness.

We should probably kill all the seagulls too, right? They urinate and do their business anywhere they want. They follow no leash laws and even worse attack families trying to enjoy their lunch and often time scatter garbage across the beach.

Seriously people? There should be fines and restrictions against the things you're angry about (leaving waste, etc). That includes the irresponsible ADULTS who allow their dog, themselves or their child to leave waste behind (whatever that waste is, a bag of dog waste, a dirty diaper, wrappers, empty cans, etc.)

The problem is not dogs, it's irresponsible adults.

The Long Beach Cops will ruin the Boardwalk by driving on it. Why don't they get their lazy asses out of the cars and walk.
