I think Mike is a rather angry guy. He's an arrogant ass and a liar as well.

Unions continue to die because of people like Mike.

The politicians reward their taxpayer funded municipal and "management" employees with plush retirement benefits. They do this in order to ensure reelection and to establish "back door" connections with politically connected unionized private employers in case the people wise up to what they are doing and boot them out of office. A good example of the latter is padding the bottom line for unionized Big Food moguls by establishing Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes under penalty of LAW!- taxes that are waived for the voting majority of Long Beach grocery eaters who pay for their "free" groceries with taxpayer provided food stamps.

The result of this thievery is to build unfunded liabilities, liabilities the future payment of which will be enforced by high paid agenda driven Government judges. This will only further increase the heavy burden the increasingly shrinking minority who pay taxes will be obligated to pay.

Among the biggest beneficiaries of this scam are Big Teachers. Big Teachers are high paid Government agents. Most of the outrageous amount the politicians charge overtaxed Long Beachers to live in their own aging modest homes are charged in the form of property taxes + numerous fees for "services". Most of this hard earned property tax money goes into the pockets of Big Teacher Government agents.

Isn't it time for the minority of Long Beachers who pay taxes to demand the self-serving politicians reformulate the method used to calculate taxpayer funded retirement benefits for fat cat municipal employees? While they are at it, shouldn't they also demand that the voting majority of dangerous tax eaters - including the taxpayer supported Thug people and their Thug "youth" - are able to enjoy a standard of living that is no greater than that of the hard working taxpayers who are supporting them?

Well you could be lying or you could be telling the truth I'll never know. Never the less it sounds like you don't have much respect for the people who work for you. I'm sure you blame the economy for holding out on them, most small businesses do. If the ones you fire do join a union they will ask themselves why did they ever work for a cheap SOB like you, at least they will be out of poeverty. Now the shoe is on the other foot your stupidity backfired on you and you are paying them through the nose, jokes on you, you tight ass cheapskate lol ...

You are living the American Dream. Joining a UNION so you won't have to be paid a reasonable salary, benefits, and pension is Sick.
Maybe the politicans who made all these impossible to fund, wildly unfair promises to the public sector unions are going to pay them in Yosemite Sam coins? Yeah, that's the ticket!

Only for the weak like you. Why do you put all of your faith in management?? Why do you bend over every time they tell you to ? Politicians crew more people than anyone haven't you figured that out yet? unions aren't hiding the money that Jerrys kids have been stashing away, even people in their own government are startig to speak up they are finding more waste than ever, like park and recreation $$ just for starters, How about Cal Trans who do you think is pulling those strings ?? not the unions, unions have NOTHING to do with that fraud ... so STFU
No one said Private Sector Unions were bad. Private Sector Union Members have to negotiate their compensation. Pub Empl unions just buy despicable politicians who will give them more and more and more of their neighbors money which is not the same thing.

There is NO good politician. Did the Unions hide federal monies? every city has its crooks within, its the council that cheats the citizens not the unions the council just turns things around on the union when they get fingered. People like yourself just don't like union even private ones like mime because we have barganing power and you don't. I'm sure you can think of some unfairness at your job.

I don't understand. Buying politicians isn't "bargaining power". It is extortion. LB should privatize everything but public safety. Sooner or later the Bankruptcy Courts will demand it.

good news for every one. there is a new in house study that says just privatizing the Parks Dept would save millions plus dramatically improve employee accountability thus improve the quality of the work all without astronomical LEGACY costs. there are many quality landscape companies in the area who could take over in a matter of days.

this could be enough millions in savings to put long beach back in shape and push back bankruptcy for as many as four years.

don't give up on long beach. solutions are at hand.
