It is a fact that states with CCW have less crime. The obvious is that mass shooting would be eliminated or less people killed if the victims had not been denied their 2nd Amendment right and could have defended themselves or others. There would probably be fewer criminals to arrest and jail...saves tax dollars..But then liberal judges and biased lawyers have been known to criminalize self defense.
All that is happening now is the public security is being slowly turned over to the whims of the criminals...
CURMUDGEON. you got the name almost right, but it should probably be CANTAKEROUS. i suspect you are an angry cantakerous man. I lived in Vermont for 10 years, and I plan to move BACK there this month. Wish I never would have left.As most of you gun nuts nuts know, Vermont has almost NO gun control laws; 0, zip nada, and is one of the only states with a constitution that genuinely, explicitly , grants the right to bear arms. This is a LIBERAL constitution. I am a liberal. Vermont has a reputation as Liberal state and I proudly confirm the truth of this. you are exactly like all the rest of your kind.Anything you fear, resent or fail to understand is a LBERAL hobgoblin.I appreciate the fact that any age of majority, Vermont citizen with no felony record can posses and carry a weapon. It makes the Police more polite, and demystifies THEIR power. Not sure your correct about any correlation between concealed carry laws and lower crime rates though. There is not necessarily a cause/effect relationship.

Uncle waldo obviously has way too much time on his hands, he should be working on the many, many police complaints he’s been given, instead he amuses himself on the internet as a promulgator for the Long Beach Police.

Uncle Waldo!, Thanks, I've been called worse. And excellent word, "promulgator"... meaning "One who makes known by public declaration..." With your permission, I may use that word some day, in some way.

Wait a minute, you were being facitious...

Actually, I'm not assigned to Internal Affairs, never said I was, but be that as it may, my intent was to merely call Gene out on his posts.

He obviously has a problem with Ortiz. I just pointed out his factually incorrect statements, that's all. He defended, I shot him down again.

My advice still stands, if you have a complaint, don't try to puff it up with B.S.

Regarding your other "point". Am I to understand that, because I'm a police officer, I have no right to confront erroneous information.

And what I do in my off time is my concern, I don't need your approval, but thanks for your interest.

Gene was popping off, he got popped back. End of story.

Carlos Ortiz has more complaints filed against him than any other park ranger (fact). THis lowly park ranger is shameful in his many antics and bad attitude toward the public.

we had a birthday party @ bixby park and two of these park rangers were in the park looking across it at some homeless people that had been drinking beer, one of the cowboys, sped across the grass with my two year old whithin 2 feet just as his mother made contact, and picked up our son. i waited on a concrete table and the cowboy, said to me "quit looking at me, your mad doging me." then his partner said get off the table, i walked over to them and gave them my ID, and said, im a disabled veteren, military intelligence, you dont have to fear me why are you so snotty. he arrested me for impersonating a police officer.

Gene from Portland, why are you so critical. Did you get caught doing something in our city's parks you would not do in your own?

It's all about priorities. We could privatize most of the City jobs and pay half as much for twice the quality.

Long Beach citizens are stupid. The Pension tsunami will bury us and crippled our kids futures.

The long beach park rangers are a persistent problem in the city of long beach. They have more citizen complaint files than any other service in long beach, they harass and bully little kids for playing ball in the park, they are rude, pushy. The long beach police dept refers to the park rangers as cowboys with guns! Thank god if park ranger Carlos Ortez and his loony side kick in stupidity park ranger Mario are cut from the payroll. We dont need park rangers the police can do a much better job.
Carlos was a ok guy but Mario was just a donkey! Good bye Mario ha ha!
