The history of LB down the tubes. Look at what we have for history now?
Where is the history of the LB Naval Shipyard where I was stationed for a year?
The Pacific Coast Club was a beautiful building and NOW GONE. and many other buildings.
Oh, LB where is thy history?

Sadly, LB has a long history of electing "activists" who have no pride in our City. Visit the archives of LB historical photos and it will break your heart if you care about LB. We sacrificed the kind of historic landmark bldgs which other Citys used to build a vibrant tourist economy. Politicians served developers and the unions at the direct expense of everything else in the City. Still do.

Dude, this city used to be a primary vacation destination for Iowans! Not a lot of significant architecture worth preserving then or now. You need to get over to western europe, you dumb hayseed. There you'll see buildings built by top artisans in their fields, and worth preserving, and none of them look like a concrete monstrosity fashioned roughly after an english castle.
Maintaining third rate architecture isn't noble. It's tacky.

Wow are you disillusioned? Vacation? What is her to vacation with? The Queen Mary and what?
I have been to Europe many times and saw what London did but still kept it's history. I've been to the middle east, Mediterranean and many other areas. I settled in LB because I developed a family here and got a good paying job. Housing was affordable and I only lived 7 blocks away from my job which helped me save money.
Since my family are all deceased now, I plan on moving out of LB as soon as I can. It has become an eyesore. The only history here is what the politicians develop and they have not done a very good job at that.
Looking forward to my move....

Well put, but I would add more than just your kind comments. This city has sadly become an eyesore with NO HISTORY to back it up, thanks to the politicians and more corruption from the city council. That's my take from what I have seen over the years of living here.

You say "Iowans" as though they don't measure up to the likes of us. Your comment is ideally suited to the empty suits and nitwits around here who are quick to judge and demonize others though the "others" continue to do a much better job running their public finances, their Communities, and their SCHOOLS than we have done.

Those "Iowans" you are so quick to demean aren't leaving their kids drowning in the Pension Tsunami. It is Californians who continue to Vote to leave their kids nothing but a broken, deficit ridden MESS.

Pseudo "doctor".

Why is it that every time you disagree with one of the more intelligent posters you imply they are over-medicating on taxpayer funded Government developed and approved drugs as a means of justifying your unwillingness to respond to the issue at hand? Are you "medicating" on revolutionary Council approved illegal pot?

When all else fails, revolutionary Government resorts to making "new earthquake studies" and implements "latest findings" in order to justify the tearing down of existing buildings and taxpayer funded public buildings and infrastructure. The latest earthquake standards will require even more taxpayer money to demolish them and to rebuild them with the same Big politically favored Construction Companies and "American labor" standards that constructed them the last time.

The result is the ugly buildings that are typically built in revolutionary cities such as revolutionary controlled Long Beach. This is in addition to the costly taxpayer funded bridges and taxpayer owned civic buildings that fall apart even though it might be little more than 50 years since the political bosses running this scheme used hard earned taxpayer money to build them. The expensive Desmond bridge is just one example. The unbelievably expensive taxpayer funded Civic Center complex and the Belmont pool are yet other examples.

Prior to the revolutionary element gaining its worldwide influence that was cemented with the invasion of the European continent during WW2, more enlightened peoples constructed buildings and made infrastructure improvements that were intended to last for the ages.

Victims living in ugly but "utilitarian" ever "new" earthquake "standard" design areas visit these places to gaze upon the beauty of buildings, buildings that often were constructed hundreds of years ago.

Long Beach is a hotbed of overcharging politically connected Big Coffee moguls who profit from taxpayer subsided slave labor. Tourists might "help the economy" by visiting the city to see the Queen Mary and to fill the bulging pockets of the Big Coffee Moguls. Until their ship departs they will most likely take advantage of their package tour to sight-see the city's ugly buildings. Afterward, the more adventurous of them may venture forth to sit in dangerous "parklets", breathing carcinogenic saturated air while drinking overpriced coffee. The yet to be answered question is, will they come back?

You are just to wrong to be on this board for comments. You are just way out of line for anything intelligent to say to anyone. Take your own advise!

Thank you. I think the majority of the readers of this thread now understand why orderlies working at managed care facilities for the insane, who are otherwise good and honorable people, too often conclude their careers by smothering their patients.

I don't think Ronald is a parent. LB parents are more apt to off themselves after the mess what they elected are leaving to their children.

No 'doctor' that would be a CNA. Again, you've only proven yourself to be a fraud.
