Wow, the difference that people make in the world. One spread love and friendship all around, all in 16 years. One trouble-making fool spread misery all around, and ended everything, all in 16 years.

Sad very sad...and what is also sad...that there are hundreds of murders that occured in Long Beach...and There is no coverage of their deaths----no rewards------no police task force--no PTA meetings.....nothing...Now.... since this murder has had all hearts pour out..will the Press telegram do back to back coverage on the Next Black guy? Mexican guy? Asian guy? White guy?.....will the mayor attend the funeral? Will pine ave shut down?...I dont know......we will have to see. This girl is no different than any other innocent person who has got smoked. There have been plenty of people minding their own business who were struck down by bullets...and this coverage...set a mark now...hope it stays consistant

Agree 100 percent.

My condolences to the family, but unfortunately these types of shootings occur almost every day in Long Beach. I think the PT's news coverage of the incident has gone overboard.

That little stupid piece of crap that shot Melody - they should have dragged him, literally, to the funeral to show him what misery and heartbreak he caused by being such a idiotic moron.

I never believed in the death penalty until now.

And a quick death is too good for this disgusting thing that fired the gun that night.

I say tie him to a light pole on Ximeno, don't feed him or give him water and let time take it's course.

He didn't care about anyone in that crowd when he fired that gun, so why should anyone care about him.

I don't care if that sounds disgusting. What's disgusting is what he did that night. Selfish little punk. His parents should be so proud - you raised a killer.

Most insincere cold hearted thing you could have said.. This is about Melody and not your selfish thoughts.

By the way you shitehead, Melody was ASIAN. Not white.

It is sad when any uplifting honor student is killed. The ugly thugs that killed Melody are less than human. The thugs are going to cost the tac payers millions of dollars in trials. The thugs' mothers and probably absent fathers should have never procreated. They are the ones who caused all of this tragedy.

Sterilize the thugs so they don't breed more criminals who do hateful things such as shoot guns into a crowd of people.

Appears the funeral was overflowing. Maybe they should've had it at Wilson's football stadium.

Here's another one of those losers I was talking about. Do you know who Melody was? Know her personally? Here's a shocker for you. MOST STUDENTS AT WILSON DO NOT EVEN KNOW HER, she wasnt THAT popular, she know maybe 20 asian kids and maybe 6 mexican kids and maybe 2 white kids.. thats it. You and the other losers on here want their 15 mins of frame. I bet most of you are racist **** who dont really care for asians like melody.
you=idiot of the year
You are kidding right? It doesn't mean you have had to know her to go to the funeral. A lot of people could relate to her and she touched many people's hearts.

You sound very bitter and angry. Does it really matter who went to the funeral and who didn't? Does it?

I'm shaking my head in disbelief that this really matters to you.

The point is, an innocent young girl, who had a long life in front of her was shot down in cold blood. She had a lot going for her. She was a model student and appears was very well loved it seems.

I thought about attending the funeral, and I didn't know Melody or her family. I wanted to attend to show my support that we Long Beach citizens are not going to take this shite from these arsehole gangbangers any longer. I wanted to attend because I also have a 16 year old girl, who was much like Melody. She.. her family.. I could relate too. Does it really matter if someone like me who didn't know her or her family attended or not?

It's a sad commentary on life, when someone like yourself makes ignorant, selfish, insincere comments in such a tragic time. What makes me sad is that her family could read this. Did you think of that? I doubt it.

Grow up.

I agree with Foclipz, I do feel for Melody & the family. I didn't know her but I think as much publicity and support this girl & her family got should happen for others as well regardless of race or color. Alot of innocent people have been killed & some of their cases have never been solved and they never received this kind of support and publicity.

I think the majority of you Sympathizing over this girls death are HYPOCRITES! you grieve her death, and condemn another, Jesus says " Let he who has not sinned, cast the first Stone " That's what I thought you cannot do it.
Trust me if you will rejoice in her death you'd be giving her more honor, because if she was this "great person, and loved everyone" then I'm 100% sure she has already forgiven her shooter, otherwise your grieving means nothing! nor does it give her rest. Let it go now, and place the perp in God's hand trust me God has a plan for him as well. Leave her death alone now you are not allowing this poor girl to rest in peace.
There was a Woman's body found in Downey why isn't there full coverage on her, why isn't she all over the news? You all are a pile of Hypocrites.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
