I'm of Hispanic decent, and I find all of these "ethnic" awards to be nothing less than racist.

Why don't we have anglo-awards? etc...

Embracing Racial segregation and abandoning the proven value of assimilation is an act of civic suicide. Remember what Lincoln said. "A house divided cannot stand". Our States's elected officials listened to Lincoln and tore California to shreds.

Most Americans of Latin descent are bright and productive. We don't need separate little awards based on race. We can, and do, easily compete with any American.

I was a finalist for this crop picking job. But I got beat out by a very competitive American of Latin descent.

We voted for the State Party politicians who choose to segregate us and reduce us all into mere fractions of Americans and it has been an astonishing success. Terrible for any who value a sense of Community among citizens but Great for the Party.

I applaud your comments. First, you describe yourself as an American of Latin descent as opposed to some hyphenated American. Those of us that are legal citizens should all consider ourselves Americans first. Secondly, you show great pride in your abilities as an active member of the human race to compete on the same level as anyone else. You are not asking for special privelages or affirmative action to improve your lot in life. You ooze individuality and confidence, and I would be willing to bet that you do not spend any time sitting on your behind waiting for the next welfare check to come in, as do so many hyphenated Americans that think this country owes them an education, housing, free food, and health care just because they are capable of breathing and filling out an application for services. You should be very proud of yourself, Ms. Montoya, I know I am and all I know about you is that it takes someone with character to make the brief yet excellent comment that you did. You have made my day! Thank you for that.

It's because of Lincoln we are in this mess. He should have never freed anyone. People segregate them selfs. Look around, you have Compton and East Los Angeles. Assimilation, that has gone well.

It's vital to understand the power of disrespecting American traditions and core values which is the cornerstone for the devastation that our version of the Democratic Party has wrought on California. Mis using Diversity as a weapon against us is just one of the diabolical acts of the least among us.
I was a Cal. Dem for years until I could no longer look my children in the eyes.
