We are close and personal friends of people that were raided in Long Beach yeaterday! And we know for a fact that they were not breaking any state laws! Why in the world do we create laws, vote on them and then arrest people for following them? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose? Honestly, why does anyone that does not need medical cannabis care that we do? If we are not bothering you with it, blowing it in your face or introducing it to your children what right do you have to tell us that we shouldn't do it. Regardless of your opinion it's legal for us to use medical cannabis with a prescription from our doctor. Vicodin is a prescribed narcotic that children sell and use on the street, nyquil is an over the counter medication that children buy and use inapropriately... why don't you waste your time harrassing the people that buy and sell these items? What about alcohol? It is a proven fact that 0, thats right ZERO people die a year in Marijuanna related deaths! Don't you have better things to do with your time? We are people with illnesses that want to live with a better quality of life and medical cannabis is one way that we are able to do that! What difference does it make to you? We are going out of our way to try and make people understand that we are good people, with normal lives we have rolled over and let you guys make the rules for years, now you have made the rules, we are following them and you still want to pursecute us. This meidcation has been proven useful on so many levels, and it has helped so many people. Can't you see that we don't want to be forced to utilize the black market. That's what is not safe! Going to a dispensary, purchasing prescriptions from friendly people that care about our well-being is OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT! As we all know State-Laws are enforced by God! Obtaining, using, growing and selling medical cannabis is a state-law, what does that tell you? I challenge anybody to name at least one other commodity that is sold in united states but is forced to be non-profit and only the government is able to profit from it? Why are liquor stores not forced to be non-profit? Why are pharmacies that sell addictive narcotics and anti-depressants able to make a profit and open anywhere and everyewhere they want to? One of the biggest problems in schools, more than marijuanna sales are minors (children) obtaining prescriptions and selling them to other children. That is where our efforts should be!!!! Any minor can stand in front of a liquor store and wait for an adult to purchase alcohol for them, 98% of the time they are successfull! This has been happening all over the world for years! Why are we not protesting liquor stores? Have you ever even been in a Medical Cannabis Dispensary? No, you haven't! Why? Because not just anyone can get in one, you have to have a prescription from a doctor! Doesn't that tell you anything?
"As we all know State-Laws are enforced by God!" Now that is funny!

It's crazy potheads like you that will ruin MMJ for everyone who legitimately needs it.

People who use marijuana on a daily basis obviously use it for something therapeutic...they're not junkies sitting in a back alley shooting up cuz they're addicted because it's been proven that marijuana is a non addictive drug...Most of these people are functioning students and working proffessionals that yes, have stress, anxiety, migraines, sleeping problems, and guess what?! CANNABIS WORKS!!!! When I first started smoking cannabis when I was 17, my main reason for smoking it wasn't because I liked to get high with my friends, I liked to smoke before I went to sleep because for years I dealt with sleepless nights and when I started smoking i fell asleep like nothin and felt like I slept double the amount that I really had...It saved me...and I thank god for that...

Marijuana should be prescribed by doctors and distributed by real pharmacies, not Armenian mafia members like the dispensory at Pine Ave. and 9th St.

Potheads are road hazards. How many innocent little children will be slaughtered on our highways before the elderly 60s 70s Baby Boomers stop trying to gain acceptance of the shameful behavior of their wasted youth?

Even were these disgusting reprobates sincere, how could they themselves know it? Because schizophrenia
is a common malady of the pothead set, how could they be sure "the voices" are telling them the truth?

Pot is a dangerous class 1 addictive drug. Let's top this disingenuous silly nonsense of debating whether pot is "medicine". It is not.

Seems that they went after the small clinics and left the high roller type like in Belmont Shore alone I have been to both and they each follow the same guide lines, same money exchange. Gee you think it is because they can afford expensive lawyers or because they are connected with the city leaders somehow.I'm no lawyer but it seems unfair to target a raid on one and not the other.
Looka like a job for LBReport or the District. Something is fishy.

Yeah most of the people complaining about the clinics probably deduct 'questionable' items on their taxes and tweek the law in many other ways too. Sure alot of people faked a malady to obtain a 'card' so what, we don't want to buy on the street and support the Mex cartels ( the collectives I know of buy only from domestic growers). These collectives have been happening for a couple years now and I have yet to see the "'stoned out zombie loser potheads" creating havoc on the streets of Long Beach have you?
What do these people fear?

ill just keep going to the homie. These places charge the same as street prices (in some cases, more). I am an avid user of marijuana (strictly theraputic reasons), and in pot circles, everyone knows the majority of people who go and get these cards, get them because it makes it easier for them to get herb and go back into the safety of their homes. They don't want to be out there meeting weird dudes in alleys or parking lots. They don't want to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes to "let loose". Most of us are just waiting to vote on it next year, and soon enough, we'll be going to Vons or something to buy it.

Yes anyone can get a medical marijuana card. All it takes is money and some fake minor claim that can't be substantiated and you can find a doctor to give it to you.

Most perscriptions for medical marijuana are a joke. I have a friend at work who got a perscription from a doctor for weed to treat "anxiety." Only people with real diseases like cancer should get it. I fear there will be a backlash that will result in the repeal of medical marijuana if the current abuse of the system is not stopped.
Who do you think you are to judge what is a real illness and what isn't? Cannabis is a real treatment for anxiety and depression, it affects our brain similarly to SSRIs. I have suffered from both disorders from childhood trauma and losing my mother. You have a lot of nerve judging people like that. I use my medication responsibly and I work AND go to school and am a good citizen. Get over yourself.

Kyorochan, who are you to decide which conditions deserve treatment and which don't? Let the doctors decide. A conversation about ailments is between a patient and his/her doctor.
