I was just pointing out the obvious that HF is mentally ill. But I consider that much preferable to the drooling idiots, racists, Teabagger scum and delusional religionists that populate the rest of this forum.

What makes you think some wandering Jew in the desert thousands of years ago knew any more than you do about God?
Do you think God had some special connection with them that he does not have with you?
They had all kinds of beliefs that were
By the way, I'm not sure if you'll remember if I mentioned this, but I am a JOHN ELDREDGE fan, so OF COURSE I am going to think that God has special connections with people. It is not just "the Jews," "thousands of years ago," and not even just Jesus, "wandering in the desert."

Well, for starters... they thought the Earth was a flat circular object... like a pizza.

You'd think... if they had some special connection to God... he would have informed them of their error.

If I am mentally ill... we should wish for the entire world to lose their minds... then we would truly have Heaven on Earth.

Well, I personally don't think that he needed to inform them about the form of the planet. I also don't think that he needs to inform us about the "shape" of the universe, or the "shape" of the multiverse, or about the "shape" of anything else for that matter, or how it is "held together," whether we should describe it as being "held together," whether we should describe it as "it"...

maybe it is not so much a matter of error, as it is inability to comprehend it all

So... if God has a special connection with EVERYONE... why do you look for connections to and understanding of God in the writings of people thousands of years ago?

God is inside you... for true inner peace... seek your own connection and understanding of him.

If you accept someone else's connection and understanding... then you are not connecting to God yourself.

That is what this life is all about.

God wants you to PERSONALLY seek him out... not in a church, not in a temple, not in a book or other holy place... but inside YOU.

We scour the Earth in search of answers... to a solution we already possess.

if he wanted to describe the shape of the planet, why stop there? Isn't he already doing that over a much longer time, by having us learn and discover the things he already knew?

I find that I agree with the people who had a connection with God long ago, and there are many more in my faith who agree with each other and accept each others' connection with God. But, it IS about finding God inside us, because without him, we cannot understand the writing as it is meant. I accept other Christians' connection to God, and accept what they hear from God, if I decide that is where it really came from. Now, about that private conversation. Or, we can continue to discuss everything here, but I might not reveal as much personal things.

as for someone else's "understanding," apparently no one understands much at all, if you are talking about things in general. People go around trying to "understand" God on their own, and then come up with a religious doctrine that's messed up, but it certainly is about God inside us, because he can make us "understand" what we need to. People can read the Bible without God inside them, and they will get something different from what is intended. Even with God, people will misinterpret things when they try to "understand."

I have things I want to reveal... things I want to talk about... things I have thought about my entire life... but fear keeps me from doing so.

Not the kind of fear you might think.

I've been running from something my entire life... not wanting to accept it... denying it... rediscovering it over and over and over again... no matter where I go... there it is... waiting for me.

What is there to fear?

I am here.

I am tired of running.

(And no I'm not talking about sexuality)

ok. Well, I am also afraid. I am afraid of using email to contact you, since we only talk on the forum. But, if you are having trouble using a private chat in the chat room, I can instruct you on how to engage in one. Only if you want to.

Religions are like flowers... there are many different kinds with many different smells... but they are all about the same thing, spreading propagating their own kind.

Each wants everyone to think and believe as they do.

BUT... people are different for a reason... if God would have wanted us all to think and believe the same way... he would have made us all the same.

God is a personal thing... if you don't personally seek him out and discover him first hand... you are failing the test of life.

I have no been inside a church in over 20 years... I have not touched a Bible in almost as long... but I see, hear, smell, taste, feel and talk with God every day.

Yeah, I think that he reveals separate things to each person, even non-believers. I DEFINITELY think he has a different experience interacting with each person, if I am to pretend to fathom his experience of things. But what do you mean when you say you do these things?

John Eldredge, the guy I won't stop mentioning long after it has seemed very annoying in my opinion. I'm very impressed with the books I've read.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Taurus

The sad fact is that a certain person isn't making much sense right now. They seem to be talking nonsense, or maybe they've got the wrong end of the stick but are hanging on to it for grim death and refuse to let you correct them. Mind you, there's also the possibility that you're the one who has got themselves in a muddle but doesn't realize it. Scary!
