Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The power had been out since Tuesday at Lakeland Arbor Village, an independent-living community, and some of the food was spoiling, at least the stuff anyone really wanted to eat.

WHERE IS FEMA ?!?!?!

WHERE IS COMRADE PRESIDENT OBAMA ?!?!?!

Instead of getting the ex-governor of Arizona's butt in gear, he is busy trying to lower everybody's expectations and cutting defense spending during a war ... the 3-letter word they never use. They also don't say terror or terrorist.

Where is FEMA? Where is Obama?

It is absolutely clear that Obama and the rest of his socialist regime doesn't give a damn about Kentucky.

I suppose they are just sitting around the table, sipping chablis and muching on arugula, joking about how those rednecks can just keep cringing in fear, clutching their guns and religion.

This is a national scandal on a scale no less than New Orleans. There was no warning, there is no help. Comrade President Obama and his pack of incompetents must be held responsible.

We need Congressional hearings! NOW!

A declaration was signed early last week by Obama. Yes...it has been slow to get help in, but the entire KY national guard has been sent out to areas hit the hardest. I understand the frustration, and it does seem like things are moving slowly, but right now, things seem to be coming together.
I'm really not sure what else a president can do ( besides tour the area )in this situation. I'm not sure if they are "allowed" to get out with a chainsaw and clear trees and repair phone/electical lines. I'm sure there is a rule somewhere that prevents this.
FEMA is already there in SOME more populated areas, but it seems like the rural areas are going to have to take the back seat for a while and that's just sad. I know of several elderly people who were not able to make it to a shelter, that are going to have to sit in the dark and rely on the goodwill of neighbors, until this mess is fixed.
Remember, right now there is a large communication breakdown due to damage done to the lines, so the reason you aren't hearing many reports is due to that. Alot of us who are in areas free of this ice storm, are getting second hand information as it becomes possible, from various sources.

Wait a minute ~ from what I understand about the Katrina situation, the "I'm not really sure what else a president can do (beside tour the area)" didn't really play out with the media when Bush was in charge, did it?
So I guess the ice storms in Kentucky and lack of immediate response for help is ALL OBAMA'S FAULT!! I guess Obama just doesn't care at all for poor white people.
Funny how that analogy is never made by the press when it comes to Obama.
I guess it's not written because it's NOT TRUE just as Bush not caring about poor black people wasn't true, but that got great coverage anyway.
No surprise here with our mainstream media being our Al Jazeera!

I'm just saying that ANY president is limited on what they can do to help, short of getting in there and doing the work himself ( and I'm sure there would be a security concern with that ). So I'm not blasting on any of them. I think they are doing what they think is best for the situation. Obama signed the papers declaring emergency aide, the gov. toured our area and now has the Natl. guard out assisting those in need. I am in an area that was not crippled by this storm, however, I have family in Paducah. I would have loved to have dropped everything in order to be with my family there, but my employer would not have appreciated that move on my part and I couldn't take my children out of school. I also felt that adding more people ( my family ) into a disaster area would not have been a wise decision. I did what I could from where I am at, I contacted those who I felt could provide more assistance than I could ( neighbors of my elderly family members ) and after they found out they were in need, they set out to help them. There is a saying "too many cooks in the kitchen". If you get too many people in a high stress situation, things tend to go from stressful to chaotic. Hind sight is 20/20. Cliche, I know...but it is true. We always seem to look back and see what we could have done better, hopefully learning what we can do better next time.
Things are starting to improve, communication is opening up now because they are able to, not because they didn't want to before now. All we can do is move forward, clean things up and remember to be there for each other in times of need.

WHO CARES WE NEED HELP NOW!!!!

I have a family that was struggling just to get to safety. Now I am told that my insurance will not cover anything because the damage was not due to a power outage on my very own property. So living in a motel, trying to just survive, not knowing if I will be able to afford another week living like this is my concern. I can not return home right now because I have children and my house is like 30 degrees yet the insurance company continues to pull their monthly fee out of my account yet will not provide me any reinbursement so that I may continue to provide a safe place for my family. Then they tell me to turn to FEMA for help yet FEMA is not helping individuals yet. So while you all continue to trash our elected officials I will trash the ones who I pay to provide supposed coverage for my family. I think they have been just sitting around trying to find loop holes in policies so that they dont have to shell out any money in an already damaged economy. Whats funny is back in Sep 07 when we had a powere outage in our home town that lasted a week and a half, they paid for all damages and food, yet now its a different story.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
