You should care who our next county clerk is, but that one will not be decided tonight. Recorder and Circuit Clerk will be.

I am fairly new to voting. I'm 20. Why is it they only let you select one party to vote for? I had a few candidates from other parties I would have liked to vote for. Anyone know?

the purpose of the primary is for the parties to choose their candidates for the election |

Zeke, thats only in the primary. In the general elections you have an open ticket. I dont like it this way either. I know alot of democrats who took republican ballots today so they could vote for more. Glad you went out and voted.

This is the primary to decide who gets put on the ballot for November except for C that was decided. You just have to pick a side for the primary. Over the years I have voted both sides. Many times the local elections are decided in the primary. Livingston county tends to be heavily democratic.

Its the primaries, you vote for who you want to run against the opponent for your party. If your not paying attention and have know idea whats going on, or who your candidate stands for and represents, its best if you stay home. Thats how Obama got elected. |
