Four times the tragedy

Four times the tragedy

There are 24 comments on the Lowell Sun story from Sep 14, 2010, titled Four times the tragedy. In it, Lowell Sun reports that:

It was totally unlike Alex DeFreitas to not show up for work, and not call. The 25-year-old Londonderry resident was the most polite, respectful and industrious employee imaginable, said Sergio and Susie Silva, co-owners of S&S Auto Repair on Charles Street in Lowell, where DeFreitas had worked as a mechanic since last fall.

I don't know any of these fellas but there are tears streaming down my face reading this horrific story. It reminds us how fragile life can be. My deepest sympathy to their families and beloved friends.
When I first heard about it the other day I started reading everything I could find about it. I, too, didn't know any of these young men, but it really doesn't matter. What I came to understand is they were celebrating a reunion of friendship that dated back several years. What is clear is they all had left an impression on this world. And they all had friends and family who loved them dearly. We may never know what happened that night...but one thing is certain...they left holes in the hearts of many who knew them and a few who didn't even know them.

Everybody just please drive carefully.
Every tragic accident lately did not have to happen. There has been so much of this in The Sun in recent days. I don't know if it was drinking and driving or merely speeding but I am betting that this accident did not have to happen and we now have four more families and many more friends broken hearted. It isn't our cars and it isn't the roadways it is how we drive and too many are killing themselves while behind the wheel.
Please everyone just drive carefully.
Prayers to all the families.
Well said. That stretch of road is fine. What a waste.
