I got a kick out of the average salary $38K. That would be $100K for some and $15K for the majority!
Yes it would give some construction jobs then when the workers go to the finished casino they'll give back a bunch of money to the owners that hired them in the first place.
Maybe you should give the casino czar job to Judd Greg; he doesn't want to work with others anyway.
What you need are permanent jobs like biomadical and other R&D jobs that will bring in money from other countries. Building businesses that drain our own monies do not work.
Using a vice to solve problems just doesn't work. Think, think, think. Who's going to pay and what will it cost to pay for the increase in crime, alcohol, drug and gambling addictions? And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I really think this is a great idea I've been saying this for about 2 years. I really hope the town of Hudson doesn't mess this one up like the past plans for that land. I for one would like to take a part time job there. It not to far from my home. I do think it would be great...

Massachusetts continues to be the "stimulus" package for NH, they are forcing everyone to shop there with their ridiculous tax increases, and now a possible casino

Smart move NH, Massachusetts should have part-time elected officials, maybe then we could have some creative ideas too.

Too much corruption in Massachusetts politics for the average resident to get ahead.

Connecticut receives over 100 million from EACH casino (Foxwoods-Mohegan Sun) yearly!

Maybe if this does happen, it will force Massachusetts to take another look at a casino. It's not the perfect solution, but it will put money in the coffers. My opinion is that it is going to take many years for this economy to turn around. ANY jobs within the casino, hotel, and golf course are still jobs!

Mass. is crazy for not building a casino. Money flows to Foxwoods, Mohegan, the NH poker rooms, and now a nice new Casino (perhaps) in Hudson. News flash ... problem gamblers find a place to bet ... anyway, I will play some poker there if they build it, an hour shorter drive than CT

Has anyone seen the devastating effects that a casino has on the surrounding communities?

I urge you all to take a ride to the towns outside of Mohegan, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas...

Gambling sucks, the only winner is the fat cat owner...

Casinos are the worst thin to have in your neighborhood, simply put!

A casino right on the state line? That will cause nightmarish traffic problems for the 'other' state as there wont be any funding for road improvements

I agree, and when we fall into tough econormic times the casino's want to pay less in taxes like Foxwoods is doing in CT, so gambling is not an answer.

1.You really need to learn how to spell.
2. A Percentage of the proceeds will be given back to the social services including help for chronic gamblers. If you read the articles in detail you would know this...

UM, there was NO surrounding community when Vegas was built, Atlantic city has always been a cesspool, and Mohegan Sun was built on an Indian reservation. When was the last time you checked out the living conditions on your average Indian reservation?

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Taurus

This is a day for turning your attention to your finances, especially if you're currently working on the budget for domestic improvements or changes. Talk to the other people concerned and really listen to what they're saying. They'll have some great insights. It will be far more productive to work as a harmonious team rather than as warring factions.
