If Marysville offered a tax credit like the one London is proposing, I might be more inclined to vote for the Marysville tax increase.

I like the way this city presented its case. It discloses where the money goes and for what.

London is at best a decaying town with the same crime problems of many Ohio cities as it is positioned next to a few corrections facilities and along a drug corridor between Dayton and Columbus.

The Fire and police departments are not enjoying any frills. A quick look discloses their equipment is decades old and their facilities are inadequate.

But with this tax they don't propose new buildings or frills, they just want to maintain the status quo and serve the public.

I'm usually not for any added taxes, but if London is to survive and ever grow and develop public safety services are a huge draw for business and residential growth.

I agree with "Not From Pataskala." Marysville used to give the credit several years ago, but doesn't anymore. If they gave the credit, I would vote for it, but not the way it is now...

Good for London's Mayor Eades!

As a London resident who just got socked with the Columbus tax increase, I appreciate that the city recognizes the financial burden London's increase would add (Columbus 2.5%, London 1%(currently) and London City Schools 1%)- yes, I currently pay 4.5% of my income in local taxes. That's more than I pay the state of Ohio in income taxes.

Mayor Eades is a good man; so is Chief Wiseman. London is a nice town. I plan to vote for the increase.

I wish the state legislature would get some guts and do something about those of us who have to pay income tax to multiple communities. I don't mind supporting services in both London and Columbus, but a limit on total tax would be reasonable. And I'd rather the bulk of my taxes go to the place I live - where the fire and police, street crews, etc.- protect my home, friends and family.

Yes they are good men. And care about their community. And I don't see it as a "decaying town." That's just an insult. These guys deserve more help to provide for the city.

No it's a decaying town. Walk about and look around.
