I heard that the house wet for $270,000.I wasnt there so I cant confirm if it was true.
However the auctioneer put out some information that may not have been true.He reportedly said there is a $50 a month maintenance charge to live there.Nami put that in effect, even collected some money from it but he also got himself sued over it after he sued others for nonpayment. The legality of what he can actually charge for is being contested. He wanted homeowners to pay for items that belong to the golf course--like the pool, water fountains, gazebo, tennis courts, etc. This is part of what lead to Namis downfall in CC as well as the golf course.Mr.Lewis has said he doesnt want the maintenance fee and wished for it to go back the way it was before Nami--which was homeowners VOLUNTARILY helping to take care of the front entrance and maybe a few median lights and that was it.There is a small group in there (S.H. and a few others) that want to assess fees to the homeowners to pay for that white elephant known as the pool whether they use it or not.Of course her motive is selfish as she coaches a swim team and the pool cost 10s of thousands of dollars a year to operate for only about 3 or 4 months usage and it also has to have thousands of dollars of repair work done to it before it can be used. I say if you use the pool pay a membership. If you dont use it you shouldnt have to pay.(By the way whats wrong with using the state park pool?) They have lied about how many people didnt pay the maintenance fees (they are saying only 10 percent havent paid which is a big fat lie) in order to try and pressure others to pay. There are approximately 120 homes in Crooked Creek.Nami sued 54 homeowners back in early spring representing about 30 homes. Well where I come from 30 is 25 percent of 120--which is quite a bit higher than 10 percent.Plus there are people living there that dont have to pay the fee due to deals they cut with Nami. Then there are those that only pay half the fee. Also there are others that havent paid and have never been sued.I would guess the true percentage that havent paid the fee is somewhere between 40 and 50 percent.

Nami is as shady as they come. He is so rich b/c he does others wrong. He doesn't even tip most of the time when he eats at the creek! He makes fun of others b/c of what they drive, wear, and so on. He is nice a lot of the time, but he just gives me that feeling like he will talk about me as soon as I walk away. All of the sexual harrassment lawsuits, homeowner's lawsuits, etc. sure says a lot about him! I was told that if I pushed a sexual harrassment suit that they would find something to use against me. They can afford the best lawyers so it would be expensive to go up against him. Someone would need a lawyer who isn't from here. All I can say is good luck...maybe people will see him for what he really is. A rich a$$hole.

Didnt you hear? He recently lost a sexual harassment suit for almost $1 million dollars and also had another one that some sort of agreement was reached before it reached court.Sounded a lot worse for him than the one he actually lost.Everyone figures he paid his way out of it.He probably is involved in 10 to 12 lawsuits in Laurel and surrounding counties presently.Definitely a shady character but his finances have taken some severe blows lately.

Some of the homeowners at Crooked Creek amaze me. They take great pride in saying how they stood up to Nami and didn't pay the maintenance fee. They don't understand or refuse to acknowledge that Nami spent millions of dollars upgrading Crooked Creek, which increased their property values a lot more than $600 a year. All he wanted was the homeowners to help with the upkeep of the common areas. Some rebelled, which showed a great lack or foresight and understanding.

Nami certainly had his faults. He was horrible at pubic relations, which put some people off. He put people in charge who had no business running the place. But he rebuilt Crooked Creek into one of the finest golf courses in the state. ALL homeowners benefited from his efforts.

Crooked Creek homeowners can gloat all they want about standing up to Nami and helping to run him off. But now the course is in severe danger of closing. Mike Wesley, the golf pro is leaving Friday because they can't afford to keep him. The course won't last through the end of the year unless someone steps up and puts in a lot of money.

Homeowners can celebrate all they want about not paying the maintenance fee, but thanks in part to their intransigence, they may one day look outside their windows and, where lush fairways used to stand, all they see are weeds and brush.

The $50 a month will seem like a bargain then as they see their property values plummet.

Yes, the crooked creek area is beautiful and looks very nice. But, if mike nami would've been more respectful to people and wouldn't have acted like he was the king of that little community things would probably be a lot different. People may not mind helping out if they were treated as an equal to the Nami's instead of one big walking dollar sign. And, if mike and alex weren't so busy trying to get laid all the time things may be different.

Just wait it will get worse. It was not long ago we were having cooking classes, science fairs, movie night, cooking classes for the kids, ice cream socials, and lots of other nice activities. Now all we have is poker for the men to get drunk and Friday night parties so that the Lewis's can all party. What a bad place this is becoming now. What happened to all the activities anyway? The newsletter, weekly activites and specials that were on our mailbox's were fun. It was great for the kids whose parents would allow them to participate. I participated in a lot of fun activites myself. Oh well I guess it will all be coming to a end soon. I have been able to tell a difference everyday for a year now. I took full advantage of all they offered while it lasted and I do miss it.

Let me make myself very clear to you.Mike Nami is a thug and a crook and I would tell him to his face. His reputations proves that. How many women has he sexually harassed? How many people has he stolen money from? Look at Ky courts online records in Laurel,Whitley,Clay,Leslie, Bell, and Knox counties.Type in Mike Namis name or one of his companies and see how many lawsuits come up involving him or his companies whether it be business, personal,or whatever.I guess you think everyone else is at fault when dealing with Nami?
The reason the course may close is because evidently Mike Nami didnt pay for the work he had done.I understand he paid $2.1 million for it and now owes over $3 million.Doesnt appear he paid his bills does it? As for the homeowners kudos to those that stood up to the tyrant.Nami was trying to screw over the homeowners and if you were a homeowner and also a golf member you were getting screwed twice. The best thing I can say about Nami is I hope he leaves and never to be seen or heard from again. Its BS for you to say home values went up--if anything they went down due to the controversy.I am sure if people hadnt put up a fight that never before charged maintenance fee would be in the thousands of dollars a year before long.In short Nami overbuilt and tried to make homeowners pay for his golf course. As for "common areas" nothing was ever specified in the original restrictions. All the homeowners ever previously helped with was the front entrance landscaping and the median area.Com mon areas do not include the pool, the tennis courts, the fountains in the pond, the gazebo out behind the clubhouse, etc. All things Nami wanted to charge people for.Nami even elected himslef a "kangaroo homeowners board" made up of people that were only eligible to be elected if they had paid Namis maintenance fee.Take up for Mike Nami if you like but you are in the minority and you are supporting a liar and a crook who scams money out of people. And another thing Nami isnt much of a businessman since he built a facility that would have a hard time making it in a much bigger city like Lexington or Knoxville.Treating members badly ran off over a 100 golf members and all those people didnt live inside CC, hiring the wrong people to run the facility like that woman at the concrete plant and then bringing in his son, etc. all lead to his demise.Bad bad stupid business decisions.

Oh my god...it is like you just read my freaking mind!!! The woman at the concrete plant is Christy, a.k.a. his mistress. And then there was her mother. She was like Cruella Deville minus the puppies. It was like having two extra bosses b/c both Christy and her mother were pretty much allowed to tell us what to do. It was always too hot, too cold, the music wasn't right, blah, blah, blah. And the food was NEVER, EVER right. Finicky bitches. And I'm not really sure what Saied's position was. He wasn't as bad...at least he had manners and was respectful. He seemed to understand how important it was for all the components of Crooked Creek to work together in order to be profitable. But I guess explaining this to someone such as his dad would be hard to do. BTW, what is a "kangaroo homeowner's board"? I've never heard of this and would like to know if it is something he made up in order to nominate himself for King? He went a little far on the extra's, like the big water fountains and holiday decorations. I know that Christy did a lot of the shopping and it was out of hand. I always felt as if there were so many secrets going on. I knew of plenty of people hooking up, Mike Nami's married ass being one of them. Girls would come in w/him to eat or have drinks and would just sit there, staring at him with dollar signs in their eyes. He liked to show off. He made lots of bad decisions with his money. If that money were mine, I would use it to help others and not just myself. And I would have a lot more of it left than he does. But Wally, seriously...right on.
