i know i probably wont get much luck on here BUT.... my wallet got stolen at walmart today, i was at my car putting my groceries away and left my wallet in the buggy and didnt realize i didnt have it until i was at home, so i went straight back to walmart and my buggy was gone so i asked the managers, service desk, and the workers outside walmart if they knew anything about it and they all said they knew nothing so if someone knows ANYTHING about a wallet getting stolen today PLEASE let me know.. it had so many important things in it... i know this happens everyday to people but i just figured i'd give it a try. so if anyone knows anything at all please reply.

I trust no one when I'm shopping. I had left my purse on my buggy at Kroger one time and just walked a few feet away. I kept turning my head to watch it and noticed an old man watching me and my purse. I went back over and he was saying that it would get stolen if I left it alone. That was just a little strange to me. I had the feeling that if he'd had the chance he would have run off with it. I no longer leave my purse in my buggy. It stays on my shoulder at all times.

IT DEPENDS ON WHO FOUND IT.but leaving it in a cart is not the same as someone really stealling it of of you.someone was bound to see it,yes they should have went back in and left it at the service desk, they may have and the clerk at walmart may be lying.just ask nicely for them to drop off your cards license, ect, ect, and they might do it,but just in case they don;t start changing all your account numbers everything,i feel for you,it is a mess,my sister-in-law was standing in the return line at walmart and someone stole her wallet out of her purse, and it hung over her arm.good luck.i hope an honest person found it,there are some left, but if your phone number was in it and you have not been called yet,i'd doubt it was found by an honest person.

Can't they watch the video tapes. I believe they have cameras outside. Just an idea, ask the managers to see if they can review it or something!? I'd be horrified if something like that happened to me. I literally keep everything in mine.
Good Luck finding your wallet..

I'm sorry this happened to you. If you ask real nice the manager might review the tapes, but they don't have to since it wasn't stolen (as you said)you basically abandoned it. If it was actually stolen then you could file a police report then Wal-mart would review the tapes. Good luck though, I know you must feel awful.

ive already tried and asked them to view the tapes and they told me that i had to have the police up there to "order" them to look at the tapes.. theyre not allowed to tell me anything, which is kind of stupid, since its MY wallet that got stolen.. but anyway, i went to the police post and they told me to file a police report and take it up there to them and they should view the cameras then but that didnt work either so i dont know... im just so upset because EVERYTHING of my personal identity was in that wallet including even my son's social security card and insurance card. i just wish there was more honest people left in this world.

oh, and yes i left it in the buggy BUT i went straight back and it was gone so, to me, thats stealing because i asked the service desk, the main manager, and the workers if they knew anything and no one had turned it in so more than likely someone stole it. :(

yes it was stealing, but different than if they'd knocked you down and took it from you,say the first person who saw it didn't take it,the next one would have.it was gonna get taking,no you didn't mean to forget it in the cart but you did.someone would have takin it even tho 5 or 6 may have not touched it.sooner or later someone would have.if you'd quit saying they stole it and just ask nicely if anyone who found it return it you might [or might not]have someone return it,but noone will if they think they are going to get in trouble for stealing.i know you are angry, but someone was going to find it.i wore a 1000dollar bracelet, heavy gold to burger king in corbin one evening,it slipped of my wrist,by the time i went back to check it was the same story as your bill fold, but altho i hated it,and myself.i didn't even expect to get it back, and whoever took it didn;t steal it,if they hadn;t the next person would have, taught me a lesson tho.a costly but good one.

Its not considered stolen. You left it behind and then someone took it.

Did you have cash in it or a debt card with the pin 3 written down in you purse?

Sadly it will probably be a finders/keepers deal. There arent many honest people in the world today. Also a lot of people are almost afraid to return something anymore for fear of being accused of stealing it or taking more money from it than was actually in it.Its terrible that people have become like they have.

Did you have a phone # inside so they can reach you?If not then they may write a note, etc.Check the want ads for lost and found too.Hope you find it.

I have made a habit of putting my purse inside the car before I unload any groceries. So many people leave their purse just sitting in the top of they cart while they unload.Sure cant do that in bigger places where the crime is worse.

Totally agree with you.Finding something and being accused of stealing is two totally different things completely. If I had it I would be leary of returning it too especially after seeing its been said it was stolen. No one is going to return it if she keeps saying it was stolen. It wasnt stolen. It was FOUND.would have sounded much nicer to have ask that whomever found it please return it..

NEVER! NEVER! carry your social security cards in your wallet! Not yours or your childrens. Leave them at home in a safe place, and only take them with you when you are going somewhere where you may need them. Then, at least if your wallet gets stolen the thieves wont have the keys to the kingdom,(so to speak).

They are still honest people around. A couple years ago my husband lost his wallet at a local restaurant it was full of cash, he was out christmas shopping. A sweet lady at this restaurant called us at home to tell us she found it. Not a dollar was missing.
So have faith, someone might still call you. I hope so.

It wasn't stolen, you left it and someone found it. As I said earlier, IF a crime had been committed by someone STEALING it then Wal-Mart would check the tapes but no crime was committed. Just consider this as tuition to one of life's lessons.

I carry a purse and I always put my purse in the seat part of the buggy and run the seat belt through the handles and latch it. A couple of years ago I was in Lexington and had my purse latched in, I was looking at something and all of a sudden my buggy jerked and some man had a hold of my purse and I started screaming at him and it got the store employees attention and he started running out of the store and the employees caught him and called the cops, I filed a complaint against him and he got 1 year in jail for his stupidity.

are you people crazy??? yes, i left it in the buggy, but when someone takes something that isnt theirs, thats STEALING, reguardless if i left it there or not they took it and it wasnt theirs!! thats stealing!! i bet if you all were in the situation im in right now you all would be saying the same thing i am. i know plenty of people have gotten their wallets taken but thats not what i mean, im talking about my life situation. but i dont want to get in too deep on that subject. so point being, in my opinion, my wallet was STOLEN because someone took something that wasnt THEIRS and all i was doing was asking if anyone knew anything about it. so thats all i want to know, thanks.

I was thinking the same thing!!! What the hell???? How about a crime was not committed because you werent knocked down and the wallet wasn't taken directly from you!! There are various degrees of crime.....that would be like saying a burglary of an empty house is not a crime because there was nobody there to knock down and take the items from their hands.....your wallet was indeed STOLEN. END OF STORY.
GOOD LUCK

NO ONE SAID what happened was right, just for her to tone it down and it might be returne, what if you had come out to get in your car and seen it in the cart, you know if you don't take it the next person will anyway, you are too tired to walk back in the store maybe you don't trust them to do the right thing anyway.anyway you come in turn on the pc and see that someone says their wallet was stolen,do you think they are going to get ahold of her now, they'd be afraid to.but what do i know,we're all crazy.

well for one thing, i dont think i sounded mean at all in my first post. i was really upset. so if someone cant come and tell me something about my wallet after reading that post even though i said my wallet was stolen, then there must be something wrong with the world because i havent been mean at all in any of my posts. im just someone whos really upset who wants their wallet back. thats all im asking out of this post. im not asking whether or not it was stolen or "taken" or how i should act so someone will approach me with some news, i just want to know if anyone knows any info on my wallet getting STOLEN.

Some of you people have a very distorted view of things. I guess it comes from your great religious backgrounds. When you take something not yours, it is considered stealing. If someone had physically taken her wallet from her, it would have been considered robbery.

I guess you fine people think if you find someone's wallet laying in a cart, then it is yours for the taking.

You have a legal (and a moral) obligation to take that wallet to the police. If you can't take it to the police, never turn it in to an anonymous store employee, and if you should feel the need to turn it in to the service desk, make sure several employees are present so no one person can convert it to their own use.
