Have you seen this ridiculousness???? What a JOKE!!!
Big, bad cops busted small time pot dealers. Big whoop. Why don't you cops do something PRODUCTIVE with our tax money, instead of blowing it on people that make the rest of us happy and calm. WTF?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am so proud of what our sheriff's department has become. We can be so proud of all these men who serve to protect. They are such a professional group of men. No wonder they are rated as one of the best department in the state. They should be since they are graduates of EKU's Criminal Justice Department /Police Academy. It is the highest ranked training academy in the Southeastern US and #3 in the nation. It trains men/women from other major countries. I think all law abiding citizens can read between the lines with your statements. It would be interesting to see your arrest record. I'm sure it is filled with drug arrest for taking and dealing, perversion with young people, child support violations, fleeing and evading. In fact, you should probably be in jail right now! Why don't you get a life by trying to improve yourself so other law abiding citizens don't have to pay your way through life--even that cot you sleep on while you are snoozing in your cell. I know who you are so watch out a BIG BLUE LIGHT might be in your driveway, Don;t bother trying to hide the drugs because they will find it--just like before. Sleep well.

What's your complaint? Did some one cut down your bud, Bud? Work to change the law if you don't like it! Until that time, however, I would expect the Sheriff's Department to do what they do so well.

I watched the video and thought it was great! The volume was pumped a little high in places, and I might have selected different background tracks. Clearly an amateur production, but I would give it a solid B+ for creativity.

I think the Sheriff's office has done an excellent job of connecting and communicating with the Public using low cost new medias like Facebook.

Good job Sheriff's Department!

My complaint is that marijuana is becoming LEGAL in more and more places everyday. The cops should focus on stuff that is actually DANGEROUS and DETRIMENTAL, such as meth, pain pills, alcohol, people with no insurance, better vehicle inspections, nicotine abuse and such.
The only thing weed causes is happiness and hunger.

I'm not unsympathetic to your position. I went to college back in the "hippy" era. THC, while not life ending/altering like meth and 'scripts, is by no means "totally safe" like it is portrayed these days. Stoned and stupid is no way to go through life.

The fact is that for now, cultivation of marijuana is still a felony in Kentucky and everywhere else east of the Mississippi River. Until that changes, the Sheriff's Department will continue to enforce the law, because it is their sworn duty to do so.

Good job, Sheriff's Department! Keep up the good work!

a recent documentary showed that < 9% become addicted to marijuana.

that is vastly different from those who will become alcoholics; which is roughly 25%.

that doesn't include the fact that more and more americans are popping doctor prescribed prescription pills.

their is no valid research showing that pot will incite reefer madness.

laws are made to be broken.

what is it to anyone else if it's a personal choice.

it isn't any wonder the prisons are full and court systems are over taxed.

the more laws that are enacted, the more criminal there will be.

What was your point? The law is the law. I'm not seeing a bunch of Sheriff's Deputies wandering through the forest looking for your pathetic looking reefer plants. The Feds are in fact using helicopters to spot commercial sized farms, that's their thing.

Be very discreet and I doubt if anyone could care less. If you are obvious about it or somebody turns you in, the Sheriff has no choice but to investigate.

Some of you idiots go to great lengths to "Try" to make the sheriff's department look bad. Well, I'm sorry it didn't work! It just goes and shows you the support Jihn and his stuff has in this community. And the ones that don't want him back are the criminals, thugs, dope and alcoholic pushers, thieves, and low life's! He has done an excellent job and will continue to do so while in office.

Not it isn't. In many states you can grow it legally as a provider to those with medical cards.

Even in Kentucky, it is only a felony if it is 5 plants or more. Even then, when it goes to court they always drop it to a misdemeanor.

Waste of time and resources. I was told personally by a deputy in another, very close by county that they don't even bother going out anymore when they receive a call from a nosy neighbor about someone growing marijuana. He said it just wasn't worth it, and the court would let them off anyways.

Agree 100%! Not an Oscar winning video, but even Cecil B. DeMille had to start somewhere. Good job!
