If you know someone pretty well that works there you might have a somewhat better experience. If however you do not I would recommend the nearest veterinary clinic because you will definitely be shown more compassion there.

I had my 3 children at the old hospital with 3 different doctors delivering...Dr. Mechas, Dr. Briere and a doctor who no longer practices with them. All of my deliveries were uncomplicated and I only had one staff member who was unpleasant. My suggestion is to discuss your expectations with your doctor. I wanted one of mine induced and my doctor gave me all of the reasons that I should not be induced and the reasons I should and let me decide. In the end, we had to do an induction and it worked very well and quickly but he knew that I was very opposed to a c section so he advised me not to induce prior to 40 weeks because my child was doing well.

Go To Manchester ITs
Pretty but the nurses are nicer and treat you better. Plus the doctors let you have an input on care. London cares more about how many babies they can deliver and care not so much about patients individually. I switched from London to Manchester and was really glad I did

I've already read up on pain management and have started writing my birth plan. My husband is fully aware of my wishes and will help reinforce what I want if/when the staff starts pushing me for an unnatural birth. I do very much believe that inductions, c-sections, etc are overused for the convenience of the staff. If you're expecting, watch "The Business of Being Born". It is an awesome eye-opening documentary.

I know that they have the jacuzzi tubs in every room, does the hospital perform water births?
Also, do you stay in the same room the entire time or get moved around?
