Laurel County has a random drug testing policy, but I don't think they test subs just as a routine thing

Why would they? I think there would be alot of unemployed teachers too. We like to think our children are safe in the school system but this is 2008 and they are safe nowhere. It's about 1 in 7! Shhhh dont tell anyone

then keep your brats at home and school them there...its real simple...if you don't like the system then just take care of them at home...but then you would have to put up with them all day every day and you can't do it...aside from all that, even if some teachers were on drugs, the kids in this area would still be safer at school than in their own homes with some of the crap they live with...

Honestly, I've never know of them drug testing anyone except bus drivers. I think ALL staff should have to submit to a drug test BEFORE being hired and random drug testing AFTER being hired.

You know what you need to slap the sh** out of your own self. What are you a social worker? I think teachers do need to be drug tested.

drug testing substitutes will never pass because the board knows they will not have enough subs. I wish it would go through, but the system is obviously not too concerned about drug abusers in our schools. Rally behind this and lobby Frankfort. Let them know we would like sub-drug testing.

Do they hire sub that much any more I thought that the teacher aids did it.

Teaching assistant positions have different qualifications and less pay per day than sub teachers. A teaching assistant can not be left responsible for a class and there must be a teacher or sub teacher in the classroom or area.

In Lexington, for substitute teachers, what does the Doctor test you for? Thyroid? Drugs?
