One person was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Laurel County late Thursday night.

The accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on U.S. 25 just south of London near the Chaney Lumber Company. Police say a red Chrysler four-door car was driving northbound on U.S. 25 when for an unknown reason it left the roadway in a curve, traveling off the right shoulder and skidding approximately 305 feet through a yard and struck a tree.

The driver/victim was identified as Douglas L. Peek 33, of London. He was removed from the vehicle with the jaws of life. Peek was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Corone

Police say Peek was not wearing a seat belt. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

You really had to go there. So if someone you love dies tragically, it's justified for you and your family, friends to get on Topix and read some BS like that! Your an insensitive POS! God help your soul... This is not the time or place for that kind of nonsense, you don't know exactly what happened so the best thing for you to do is just keep your mouth shut.

dont judge anyone about anything till you know the facts.his kids are able to get on here and look also is his family and friends.so dont go judging people about anything and then when you do know the truth dont judge him whether good or bad.just think of your life and things you have done good or bad and would you want your family on here reading something about you that someone assumes you were doing when they dont know and if you were doing it would you want it posted for your family and kids and friends to read after all the pain they have suffered from the loss of a loved one?it does not help and doug peek had alot of friends and also a wonderful family and someday the cards may turn on you and the post be about you.we all can make mistakes in life but that dont mean that as soon as something happens that you were doing something wrong at the time. respect his parents and especially his kids while they are mourning the loss of there son and his kids the loss of there father.im not on here to argue with anyone or to start a chain letter reaction im just implying that dont always judge someone for things they may have done in the past or as they say you will reep what you sow as what goes around comes around.and i wish bad luck on no one but please respect his family during this time and if you think something he was doing caused the accident then fine but dont post it for everyone to see you have your right to your opinion as everyone else but first respect his family no matter what you think.and i hope you do because this does not help matters any by insinuating that he was drinking so out of respect to his kids and family let it go

Those places raise money for families in need. They give to needy children during the holidays. You shouldn't talk trash about a place, just because you are against alcohol.

There are plenty of organizations that can raise money without selling alcohol to do so!

God Bless him and his family. May he rest in peace. And may God forgive those who enjoy misjudging before they know the facts, and even then should keep their remarks to themselves!
