We had my mothers funeral at House rawlings back in May and we where treated great. All the guys there were just good normal people. They treated us like we were part of thier family. We are sortive a very picky bunch too. But everything we asked was done just about perfectly. My mother would have been so proud of her funeral. Everything was done with so much class, right down to the funeral procession to the cemetery. After seeing some of the people that own the funeral home I would have to agree with all the others and say I will certainly question using thier services again when needed. Especially if it is all new employees. When I heard about this I called to see if the young man that helped us with mother was there and the lady that answered the phone kind of huffed and puffed and said he was not there anymore. We have some good church going friends that own London Funeral Home but Bowlings is nice too. We will probably think of one of them the next time we need a funeral home.

You dont know them to good or you must not live in London or you would know about it. I dont know if they are closing yet should I say but the talk is not good and there are several new faces there and most of the old ones that are local people are gone. I asked one of the new guys who he was and he told me his name and that he lived in Middlesboro. Now go figure that one out? My friends funeral this past week was supposed to start at 1:00 p.m. well they didnt start till about 25 minutes after 1:00 and I had to return to work after it was over. Our family has used them several times over the years and have came to know all people there. Heck we had to use them twice last year once with my dad and once for my moms sister. Same bunch of guys there both times then. So it really makes you wander if all the talk ain't true.

London cares nothing for so called landmarks. If they did, they would have never stood by and allowed Sue Bennett college to close which allowed all these half azzed colleges to come in to our area. I was born and raised here and it makes me so mad!!! Some of these teachers at these new off campus college extentions in this town are ridiculous!!HR is the same!!

Maybe all the guys that are gone will go open a new funeral home and let the stockholders at House Rawlings have thiers. All they will have is a building and the building is not what got our families business. The people who took care of us and our family members so well was.

Many many years ago.......

Some of the original House family owners was quoted as saying, " I don't wish anything bad on anyone but I sure wish business would pickup."

Many fortunes have been made in House Funeral Home. It was a training ground for so many directors. It will be a loss.

We are suprised by this too. We have almost $10.000 each in a pre-need account at House Rawlings. We have decided to just pay close attention to what is going on there. But if something where to happen to one of us we are going to call London Funeral Home and let them take care of switching everything over to them.
We do not support crooked wrong doing to anybody. We didnt really know anybody personally that was let go but we like Perry House and his funeral home anyways.

I hope this is exactly what happens. I had rather not be at London Funeral Home or Bowlings. Our family would use them for sure.

Yall have no idea what you are talking about....the names listed as "owners" of House Rawlings are not even the major shareholders! Yep...I know for sure because I am one of them and my name hasnt even been mentioned on this thread.

Since the forms filed by House Rawlings with the Kentucky Secretary of State are incorrect, please educate us.

Go to Kentucky: Secretary of State website at www.sos.ky.gov or type in Kentucky Secretary of State and the go under officer search and type in one of the listed owners names and it will give you a full list of the current owners of the funeral home. This is a public record anyone can do it. Better yet give the Secretary of State a call and request a copy by mail. The names are all there just like the post says each and everyone of them. I would say they have told you that you were a shareholder and have took your money and ran with it. You have been lied too. These people have ripped you off like some of them have done to so many others.

I too wish they would do this! Wonder if it is a possibility?
After seeing who the owners are at House's I would support this group of guy's and there funeral home 100%. I would even be interested in going in with them on a new funeral home in London. We do not really have anything negative about the other two funeral homes in town, but I am not fooling with the group that owns House's. I have already been burned by two of them in the past in business deals. London could handle at least four funeral home with its population. Look at Corbin they have four funeral home's there. I would like to talk with them about this.

Agree with the post above. It would have been a little different if they replaced locals with locals. But replacing certified people with people who have never worked in a funeral home before and people from another town. That just sends the message they are going broke and need to save money. Because you know a certified funeral director is going to be paid more than a person who is not certified. Just like the funeral home owner posted back in this topic. Certified people are very hard to find especially ones that you would want to work for you. So if I was a betting lady I would say the person from Middlesboro has some serious issues going on or he would be working at a funeral home in his own town with people whom he knows. I do not want somebody I do not know caring for me or my family when it comes to death. just a thought.

How much money would a person need to start a new funeral home? I know the one it Pittsburg didnt last but it did not have established known employee's either and was located in a dump. Enlight of what is going on at HR it would be a absolutley great time to do this. What about a Co-op Funeral home anybody ever heard of one? Set it up kind of like Southern States Co-op is
