Its party time for the obamas as usual on the tax payer's dime.
Michelle Obama, Daughters Lunch With Bono in Ireland
ABC- First lady Michelle Obama and her daughters are having a VIP lunch in Ireland today, reportedly dining with Irish rock superstar Bono at a pub outside Dublin.
My, do we have an axe to grind big time don't we?

It's sad that everytime the govt. has a confidential traveling plan that some feel it best they be personally advised. There's nothing wrong with the First Lady and her daughters enjoying a concert. I'm sure you'll later find, she paid for her own tickets, but you wouldn't want to know that...would you?

Meantime, I'm checking out millionaires and billionaires who claim they just can't afford to pay a worker 50 cents more an hour purchasing $15M pieces of Art and sailing off on their $23M yachts (one of them).

Businessmen have lunch daily on the dime of the business that operates as an expense that increases their costs....so they can't give a hard worker a 50 cents raise. Oh and they also buy out season box seats at the sports games for "entertainment" purposes which also again is an expenditure to the company that prevents the company from giving a hard worker a 50 cents raise. Oh, and it never ceases to amaze me just how big of a pension pan an Executive can grace himself with that is ...an expenditure to the company that prevents the company from giving a hard worker a 50 cents raise. I could go on if you'd like me to?

Now...back to the President of the United States of America and his world connection representing the world's #1 leading country (for now anyway until the Tea Party decides to have the top 1% sitting vs paying off)

Sincerely,

Your Worst Nightmare in advance

I see you chose to only respond to one of my points, the simple one at that. I didn't mention any concert or tickets only the VIP luncheon with a rock star at a local pub which was in the news today.

Who paid for security? Actually I don't care, its just that as America goes through tumultuous times, the obamas party on like a rock star.

No, I don't have an ax to grind, I just don't like the condition our country is in and would expect the leader of, "the world's #1 leading country" as you say to do much better than what we have seen.

Since Obama has added more than twice as much to the national debt in only four and a half years as Bush did in eight years, he should not be spending taxpayer money on expensive vacations.
It's not like he needs a break from working because all he does is fly around the country campaigning every day on the taxpayer's dime.

Starting 2 expensive, ongoing, neverending wars on America's credit card didn't stop Bush from taking the most vacations of any President in history.

Security is paid for the same was it's paid for all Presidents.

Obama has made some tall changes, yes, for the long term betterment of our country. If he isn't into instant gratification, there's nothing I can do about that. Since GWB led him into the gates of Hell, the flames can't be put out with a can of coffee.

However, I do respect your opinion.

Dr. 2+2=5,
You keep trying to make this a Republican vs Democrate thing. Wake up before you fall asleep at the wheel. Most everyone here is just saying its wrong! We don't care if Bush, Clinton, etc. took more time off. This is about the economy and everyone on furlough.
Chicago has higher than the national average of unemployment plus one of the highest cost of living. I bet they would like a vacation. Why not vacation here and pump that money into the local economy instead of another country.
Is he searching for his birth certificate?

Even the Democrats are saying Obama shouldn't be taking these expensive vacations.

‘Lead by example’: Fellow Democrat blasts Obama’s pricey trip to Africa

The Washington Times

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Rep. John Barrow blasted President Obama’s weeklong trip to Africa that begins Wednesday, urging the president to “lead by example” by not taking such an expensive visit, The Blaze first reported.

The trip to Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania will carry a price tag estimated between $60 million and $100 million

Rep. John Barrow blasted President Obama’s weeklong trip to Africa that begins Wednesday, urging the president to “lead by example” by not taking such an expensive visit, The Blaze first reported.

“No one here questions the need for security for our commander in chief,” Mr. Barrow, Georgia Democrat, said.“But we do question the need for such expensive trips when so many folks across the country are being forced to cut back because Congress can’t get its act together.”

“A trip of this magnitude isn’t unusual, but these are hard times,” he continued.“One hundred million dollars could be better used to keep folks on the job. I urge the president, and everyone at the federal level, to lead by example, and not take the fact that Congress can’t get its act together and rub that in the faces of hard-working Americans.”

One word. Healthcare.

Can't afford it and can't cook the books enough to make it appear affordable.

That is why we are still stagnant and the only improvememnt is those falling from the rolls.

Hope this helps, but it probably won't. It takes some intelligence.

Surplus? LOL
There was no surplus. Bill Clinton had a deficit every year he was in office----Ya can't have both a deficit and a surplus! Go to the treasury department and check it out.

The day Bush took office the national debt was $5,727,776,738,304.64 and Bush added nearly $5 trillion dollars to that amount in his 8 years as president.
The debt is now $17 Trillion with Obama.
