For the past year I have been bullied in the workplace. The target of gossip, being ignored, condescending words, extra workloads (unfair amounts) and so many other actions that I can't go into detail on. I go to work anxious everyday. I can't sleep at night. I actually have nightmares about work. I feel depressed. I cry everyday. I've lost interest in everything. I actually LOVE my job and the work that I do, but my coworkers make it unbearable. I do have 1 or 2 coworkers that are on my side. They've seen the bullying first hand and I at least have them to talk to. I feel like i'm at my wits end and I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else have this problem in the workplace? What did you do? It's a great job and it pays great, but my mental health is suffering due to constant mental abuse. I can't afford to quit, but I feel as if i'm going crazy...

Hunt for another job and find one. I would enjoy telling the boss at that place to stick it, but only after you get a job somewhere else. It's a sad shame if these are grown adults doing this. Some adults act worse than children.

They are grown adults. I'm 25 and they're all in their 40's. I'm thinking of taking it above my boss. I've documented some of the bullying, but only just started. Half of my mind wants to tell everyone there to stick it. I'm looking for a new job, and have been for a couple of months, but no luck yet.

Good luck with finding a new job! Obama made all of those a thing of the past like dinosaurs ! Heck, you are more than likely to find a dinosaur before a job!

If the boss don't want to do something, take it up the chain until you get some help. I wouldn't stop at that boss, he may be a jerk too. If you have to go above his head, You will probably find someone that is willing to listen. Just talking from experience.

You are younger and you do not have the skills to work with older women, they are vicious people, it does not matter how good you are at your job, you have already shown them that they now have someone to f-ck with all day long and the woman you think is " on your side" is really causing you more heart-ache.I have been where you are and it was hell, I spoke with my mother and she said woman 40 and older are menopausal and are worse than a bunch of teen-age girls, she told me to tell one of them that I was very sick with something like lupus or cancer and it worked, they have not bothered to ask any questions about how i;m doing with my fake illness and they now do not bother me

I say file a lawsuit of harrasment, and they'll stop or pay damages to you for mental anguish and stress.

You can file a complaint with OSHA. If it’s affecting your mental health, OSHA can drop a bomb on the company you work for. I would at least go above my bosses head and mention to his boss that if something is not done you’re going to call OSHA. I don't know of a company that wants OSHA snooping around. I hope this helps.

heck no you all. The best way to deal with it is to get educated on how to set up somebody using a tape recorder. Find out how to make it work in court.
If it were me I would go find a good attorney. Tell him what your going thru and let him tell you how to respond.
Sue the abusers and sue the company for allowing it. It works like a charm

I went through the exact same thing! I ended up quitting! Now that I look back on it, I wish I had of sued! My advice is to document everything that happens and take "flitter's" advice. Although he has a comical post name, he's giving you good advice.

Japanese Government Bullies Its Own People

But the Japanese history reveals that it has been bullying other nations much more viciously.
