must be nice to have that much money to throw away, when there are so many people in the london area that would be thrilled to get just the money they probably spent on their windows. why do people have to feel the need to show off their money? why can't more people get the satisfaction they need from helping their neighbor or someone in their community. i think that is just so sad at how so many people think they have to build such big homes, and a lot of the time it's only a couple or small family to live in it. ya know you can't take it with you in heaven and it doesn't make you look any better in God's eyes, so why not just build a decent size house to accomodate you and your family and help some of the less fortunate people? ya know it may just be a stranger you run into, or it may be the person you work with, it may be a family member but why not show your love for your neighbor in monetary way that right now with our economy the way that it is, that would be such an awesome blessing. especially considering that the holidays are so near. why do people have to brag about taking their vacations every month when there are people like me that work their butts off and haven't had a vacation to speak of? because they are people that only care about themselves and they think they have to have something to brag about. think people!!!! that just makes me think of you as being a selfish person, someone i would not want to be around. PEOPLE!!THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!!SHOW YOU CARE!!

OMG, you don't even know this family. They have a huge family and rent a lot of motel rooms when they get together, the house is being built to accomadate the family when they get together. I haven't ever heard them flaunt their wealth or ever mention that they are building a new house. Answer me this, why is it some people envy what other people have ? Why is it that middle class or poor people want the people that have worked hard to give their money away to charity or the poor ? How do you know they don't donate to charity ? Why don't you quit coventing thy neighbors belongings and good fortune and stop judging those that you do not know anything about ? Do you go to church, just curious ? If not you need to have someone pray for you, if you can't pray for yourself.

instead of running your flapper on topix, why don't you take the precious time you wasted and donate it to help some of the less fortunate people you speak of. my guess would be if you took all of the time you spent jabbering about other people and put it to constructive use you could probably solve world hunger, aids, and cancer among others.

If this family had chosen to give away the money they spent on the house, the same group of "needy" would be there the next day asking for, and expecting more.

I happen to know those boys... Those boys earned everything they have... Quit using God to justify your jealousy... Those boys got their start logging for a living... You think you know what hard dangerous work is? Try that for a living. You don't know anything about them... Mind your own business...

Has anyone ever took into account, get an educate.most people, I am not saying all, don't get a decent education. Some associates degrees, you can get a good paying job. But in this time and age you have to have most of the time a bachelors or higher. People complain about what they don't have but have they ever looked at the people that do have what they got because they put in the hard work. I was in the military as a single woman. I met my husband and had five kids. We couldn't afford much on just his income so I decided to go to school and get a degree to get a good job. I didn't rely on the system to feel sorry for me. Now grant it, it is there for the people that need it. But I would say at least 40 percent don't. I received my bachelors degree with a 1,set of 3 yr old twins, 6 yr. Old and 8 yr old. I didn't touch any of my school work till my kids were In bed. I wanted to spend every moment that I had with them. Anyway, point being is to get where most people are in life is that they either work for it or they don't. I am not from this area and where I grew up, people didn't rely on the system. My dad is a legal immigrant from Mexico and my mom is from Iowa. My dad got his masters that he paid for out of his pocket and has lived the dream that all other immigrants did and worked for over the past 400 yrs. So before you are quick to judge, how hard have you worked in your life?

It IS nice to have that much money. Even more money is better. If you have the money and the property, you can build the biggest house in the world, I don'y care. It's your money, you do what you want with it. 28 room mansion and only use 2 bedrooms? Who cares?
So there are a number of people in London that would love to have the money spent on just the windows alone. Yea, and they wouldn't mind having the car, the computer, or the entertainment center either. Yea, I bet they would love to have all that. And especially for nothing, that IS a good deal. Gosh, who wouldn't?
So why is buying a nice car or a home larger than yours, considered "showing off?" Are you sure it's showing off? Not every home owner or Mercedes owner isn't showing off. Maybe a huge house and Mercedes is normal for some folks. I guess the illegal aliens down here wonder the same thing. I have a 3bdr home and newish Mustang. To them, broke down and poor on assistance. They would say I'm living large. I'm not, It's normal to me. Not to them, but is to me. It's all a matter of perspective. I wonder if the illegals think I'm showing off if I wash my car and drive it?
Quote "why can't more people get the satisfaction they need from helping their neighbor or someone in their community" Why? Says YOU? Most people are stupid idiots that need to get up off their lazya55es and get busy. What is it with you people and your SOCIALIST-COMMUNIST ideals anyway? What kind of commie horsecrap is this? You know, most people worked hard to get where they are. Why the OBLIGATION to hand out to others who did nothing? Just wants a free handout from the guy who did well. Typical, lazy American. If someone does well and gives to charity, great. That's wonderful. But OBLIGATED? Oh, you EXPECT it? Well that puts a different light on the whole situation. Many wealthy people do donate a lot or involve themselves in charity organizations. But if one doesn't, so what, that's his/her decision. NOT YOURS! You mind your own business and you worry about you.
True, people can't take homes to heaven. But they do get passed on to family. And while I do believe in helping others and charity. Remember, people are like dogs. And if you keep feeding them at the table they WILL keep coming back. Except after a short time, they forget the charity and beging to EXPECT IT! And this expectation of freebies kills any desire to get up, get out and get busy. Most will quickly turn into ungrateful recipients expecting, demanding more and more and more. Heck, it's free. And yes, it's addictive. Million on welfare can't be wrong.
I work my butt off too. Broke raising 3 kids, divorced and paying child support, no vacations either. Do I expect free handouts? No. Do I resent my neighbors in grand houses and new BMW's? No. I don't. I keep my nose to my grindstone and keep on. I can only worry about me and my family. Oh sure, having a nice home wouldn't be bad. But I sure as heck don't resent them or expect to be elevated too just because I am jealous. I may not be living large, but I do ok and much better off than many others in this world. Be grateful for what you have. Stop worrying about others or how they spend their own money.
You come across as the blow hard nosey neighbor that sticks her head in everyone's business and sure has an opinion. Problem is, most people think you are annoying and the only other people who like you are the other neighborhood ninnys that GOSSIP all the time. Tend to your own knitting granny. Most people find you and people like you tiresome and annoying.
....just sayin'
