First off, lancing a boil is not making a little hole in something and thats it. It usually involoves making a BIG hole, draining it and removing the infection. It usually does leave a big hole that has to be packed for quite a while. The bigger the boil, the bigger the hole. And if your father was having no respiratory problems, there was no reason for the lung doctor to see him. You have to have a REASON to see a specialist. Can't just request to see one for no reason.
He had pnemonia. I think that is good enough REASON to ask for HIS Doctor. Don't cha think....
I know about lancing a boil. He wasn't as big as grain of rice. But when the dr. that WE DO NOT REQUEST get finished with him, there was a hole & big enough that you could see the bone & muscle. We DIDN'T WANT IT CUT OUT JUST LANCED there's a difference. Futhermore, we was not even told when they had done this. None of his close family signed for this & neither did he...
The ER nurses

The ER nurses are HORRIBLE, the night shift ones. Which it is the same old ones from the old hospital. But they are hateful, not helpful AT ALL.
I accompanied someone to the ER about 4 or 5 months ago, after she rang for the nurse, TEN MINUTES LATER, she finally dragged her butt in, asked what she wanted, she told her she needed to go to the restroom, and keep in mind, she was there for dropping something on her foot, the nurse's response, she said, "well, alright, you can go" and then told us where it was. My friend told her, my foot is injured, I need a chair, the nurse said, "alright" as hateful as she could, guess what, she never got a chair! I had to help her to the bathroom 20 minutes later. When the Doctor returned, 2 hours after the xray (he was American by the way), he confirmed she did have a break.

You didn't say anything in your previous post about pneumonis. That would have been a little helpful, don't cha think.....
ANd since when did you become a doctor????? You have no clue what was going on UNDER the skin that you couldn't even see until you opened it. So until you get your MD license and start treating patients, you should really not say things you have no clue about. Just because YOU wanted it lanced, doesn't mean that was the best treatment. Maybe if it would have just been lanced, it would have never gone away!!!!

I did post the truth about lack of american doctors in st joe. I asked for an american doctor for my mom. The social worker. I think her name is sherry, told me there was no Americans in the doctors group that had been hired to take care of patients there. She did tell me there was one mexican but zero americans. So before anyone telling me that I have lied take a good look at yourself. Im telling you what I was told by one of the people that really should know what she was talking about. And Dr Maxie should be allowed to work there. He hasnt been found guilty of anything yet has he? What happened to innocent until proven guilty? OH. Let me guess. We have so many damn foreign doctors here that our rights as americans have went down the tubes. Im not going there nor will my family be going there until they have american doctors to take care of us. I would really hate to see anyone in my family have to go there then get blown up by some radical muslim that wants to be a martyr so he can have all those virgins. UGH> can you believe there is actually a religion out there that supports this kind of bullshit.

My niece just had a baby at SJL and I was in there after a bladder surgery. We were both on the 3rd floor and both had a great experience. The nurses and doctors were outstanding and the facility was great. They accommodated us with everything we needed. I couldn't say that about the old hospital but the new one was a whole new experience for us. Thank you SJL!

I know what my daddy wanted done. I know what it looked like after they were finished playin' with knives. Btw, I don't have my MD license but some of the dicks up there either. If they do, they ordered them from friggin' Sears. I know that when he left he had Staph...Now I wonder where he got that from...HMMMMM
It would have gone away, they always have before even without being lanced. But I suppose since he had insurance they done what "they" wanted...

This is a thread about "how is saith joseph london" I gave my opinion from mine & my families experience.

If you woulda saw the boil "before & after" you would of agreed with me...

Until you get your MD license don't think you know how everything should be either. If you do have them, from your attitude, I just don't think I'd want you as my Dr.

I would say the staph was ALREADY in the boil. Look it up. MOST boils are caused from staph. And staph is on EVERYBODY'S skin. And you said "it always went away before withour them being lanced". Maybe that is the reason they keep coming back because there is still some infection left in there after they have "gone away". And that is why I say that staph was what caused the boil because staph is hard to get rid of and if it not drained COMPLETELY, it will keep coming back until it is CUT OPEN and ALL the infection is removed. ANd doctors don't do what they "want". They have to have a MEDICAL REASON to do any procedure. And trust me, I am sure this doctor would have much rather been finished working earlier and gone on home, than to fix his boil. I didn't say EVERY doctor was a good doctor. Actually most doctors aren't very good. But when people start telling all these things you are saying without KNOWING ALL THE FACTS INVOLVED, it is very misleading. I would suggest you ask the doctor who did it, so you would understand. Or look up some information on the internet and you will see what I am saying is true.

Lancing or cutting and draining a boil is not surgery. If your dad told the doctor he could do it, then there was no need for the doctor to ask any of you. Was anybody at the hospital with him when the doctor talked to him or did the procedure?

Daddy was never left alone in the hospital. I know you are tryin' to help me understand all of this but if you would of seen how it looked before then after you would understand my point. I just don't think it should of been lanced that way. To me that wasn't lanced it was removed.

What they did was surgery. It was left open to drain. But it was big as a half dollar. Mom told them they could lance it when the doctors were talking to her about it but we all said we wanted Dr. Graham to do it even daddy told them that's who he wanted to lance it.
We didn't even know when they did the procedure they come in his room took him for some tests & come back & that was that.

My husband had Staph about six months back. The doctors called it a boil that was caused by bacteria getting into his sweat glands on his arm. He went to Dr. Graham to have it checked. Dr. Graham put a tube in his arm to drain the infection and gave him a prescription for antibotics and told him to keep it clean and dry and covered. In about four days, the infection had cleared up and the tube fell out of his arm. Doesn't even have a scar from it. The main thing about staph, KEEP THE SITE CLEAN AND WELL BANDAGED.

I agree with you. Daddy boil was open until they done their so called "lancing job" & he had staph when he left the hospital.
After he got home I took care of it, packed it cleaned it, kept it dry, clean bandages 3 times a day. It was 100% better looking when he went back the 2nd time for pnemonia than when he left the hospital after they did him this way.

That's they way we thought they were goin' to do the procedure, with the tube & everything.

We, the citizens of London, Kentucky, are fortunate to have excellent quality healtchare through Saint Joseph London. My family and I have receive excellent care there on multiple occasions.
We are also equally fortunate to have a diverse medical team including doctors from all over the world (America included). As a London native I am so thankful for the DIVERSITY the hospital brings to our community. I am completely ashamed when I hear/see my fellow Laurel Countians speak negatively about individuals from other countries. Racism is ugly and devastating in any form.

That my friend is nothing but a downright crying shame. Why is shit like this allowed in this country? Me and my family will not be going to st joe until they get some American doctors to work there. obviously they dont think American doctors are up to snuff. I say kick the damn muslims and indians all the way back to wherever they came from and get some American Doctors in that place. If I go to a Doctor I sure want to be able to understand what they are saying. When my mom was in st joe I surely did not get to speak with not even one doctor that spoke really good english. They are kinda like the mexicans. Speak our language or the border is due south. Let me point you in the right direction
Maybe you better wake up there weezy. Your post is the epitomy of what a bigot is. Be thankful ANY doctor is willing to come to this pimple on the world's butt. Do you know hard it is to get health care professionals to come to these rural areas? And then some see your type on here and that negates them coming here. Frankly, I am surprised to find out you are such a narrow minded bigot.

My last experience there was awful. I had a scottish Doctor. He was an American but his last name was of Scottish descent. He was so rude to my husband and I. I dont think he really wanted to be there that night.
