Ok I need some GOOD advice... does anyone know of a place to get dentures? I am under 50 and I want a place that can make a set of dentures that don't look like my grandparents should be wearing them. I am hoping someone can give give me some information. I really don't care about distance or price when it comes to getting a good set of dentures. thanks in advance

i too have heard nothing but good things about allen dental - i can tell you one place NOT to go tho - cumberland dental on the falls road in corbin. the dentist there is a really nice fellow but his dentures don't fit worth a darn. i did my research before i got mine about a year and a half ago and everybody told me to go to allens but i am on a very limited disability income & the one in corbin quoted me a cheaper price. well,$7000 later (about $2000 more than the quoted price) my dentures STILL didn't fit. had them relined & they said that this would fix the problem - another $250. guess what?? they don't fit any better now than they did before the relining.......... i am thoroughly disappointed with the dentures and cumberland - should'a took everyone's advice and gone to allens to begin with - their price was still quite a bit cheaper than what i ended up paying cumberland. live & learn - my mistake and i'll have to live with it till i can save up enough to get some decent ones from allens but in the meantime, i'll do whatever i can to keep others from making the same mistake that i did. good luck to you in the decisions you make on this.

I think you could get several teeth inplanted for 7,000 i sure would not pay that for dentures when i could pay a little more and get permanent teeth inplanted .

I have worn dentures for 30 years. Can't reccomend anyone because I got mine (2nd set) in Indiana. But I do have some advice. First, don't buy the economy set, get the premium ones. Worth the money. Second, when it comes to fit, you can do it better than the dentist. His job is to make them properly, and get them close. Your job is to "fine tune them to your comfort". You do this with fine sandpaper. You will have "sore spots". Where it hurts at, put the sandpaper to the dentures, and don't be shy about it. Repeat the process until the sore spots go away. You can locate these better than the dentist. You really need 3 grades of sandpaper. Medium, Fine, and Super fine. Remember, don't be shy with the sandpaper. Have confidence in what I am telling you, it works and will save you trips to the dentist. Good luck.

Oh, one other thing. When you clean your dentures, forget about Polident and Efferdent, etc. Nothing cleans them as good as ordinary Bleach. Just soak them for about 15 min and then rinse under running water and use tooth brush to remove remnents of the bleach.

I was going to go to Cumberland but I have yet to hear anything good about them. My teeth aren't quite bad enough to have them all pulled yet. But when they are, I think I will stick with London. Thanks everyone

Allen dentures made my friends, her front lip was so stretched out she look like she was growing a duck bill. We went in the back and he told her they looked fine, and she shouldn't listen to her friend. We got her money back and left.

Once you leave, they are yours, so if you get them done somewhere, take a frend, take some time and make sure they look right before you leave.

hi, i would recommend 'affordable dentures ' in Richmond, that's where i had mine made and they are great cost $485 per set & they are well worth it. i have had mine for almost 3 years and they are still in great shape still like new, everyone that knows they aren't my real teeth said the only way they knew, was i told them...
