with elected county officials like this watching over our money and our grant money anything could happen , we are in deep trouble, time to find a new co. judge and six new magidummies.

No need in calling names, I personally don't want 6 new "magidummies", I'd like to see 6 new magistrates and a judge, as well as some other new county officers. L.C. grants will be placed on the back burners for a long time. The chances of L.C. getting anymore grant money is going to be slim to none. This has blackened the eye of every First Responder organization in the county. And it doesn't matter if Reams is found guilty or not of any wrong doings, it is just how it will be concieved by the people. Most already have him convicted and hung, which maybe the final outcome, but the whole incident is going to hurt everyone in Laurel Co. in the long run. Fiscal Court should have opened their own investigation into the spending 2 years ago when questions were raised then about the over spending going on at the Emergency Center. They even knew that CSEPP grant money was being passed from one pocket to another just to get the bills paid. A full investigation and volunteer audit by the fiscal court 2 years ago might have saved the faith of the voters but not now. They should all have to answer for the misappropriation of these funds because they knowingly let it happen.

The audit determined that "the bid was led by the CSEPP director [Reams] rather than going through the Fiscal Court." Times Tribune, page 3. You need to buzz down so you can state a statement as fact.

You people sit and complain about your local politicians but you vote the same ones in every election! If you have someone new and exciting to run for office you ignore them. I have you yu say things like, "He would be the best one for the job but no one knows him so he don't have a chance". Then you vote for one of the "good ole boys" because of name recognition!! You have problems in Laurel County? Blame yourselves!!!! Next election get behind someone who doesn't serve the rich people of the county and get him elected. Complaining on here does nothing!!!

Who ran for Judge in the last election that wasn't the same good ole boys ? Judge Kuhl, Jim Lewis, Ed Parsley and Preacher Gene, all of them old politics, we didn't have much choice to elect new blood. My magistrate was changed to new blood, he had never held office before and it shows, it looks like he needs to go and another one try it and I'll vote for someone different in dist 4 next time and also for Co. Judge if anyone worth his salt runs, especially new blood. I know who is at fault it is the voters for re electing old blood, it is just we need someone new to vote for.

Amen!! Too much of the same ol stuff and not enough of "Trust but Verify"! Our Fiscal Court fell asleep and didnt do their jobs. Not one of our magistrates did what they were elected to do and thats take care of this county. I couldnt agree more with Old Man. I would offer this suggestion... The next election.. Make the candidates have atleast 2 public forums so the public can interview them. New blood.. Old blood.. Democrat... Republican... doesnt matter.. What matters is we get the most qualified person for the job.

The magistrates may have pointed it out but what did they do about it, Absolutely Nothing. They should have insu=isted on an investigation.
The same old answer that they come up with is That we can't get Kuhl to co operate or do anything other then the way he wants to do. What a load of CRAP answer. They had proof right before their eyes if Kuhl didn't want to do something then they should have went to the AG office and filed a complaint and asked for an investigation into the whole spending mess. Just because Kuhl is County Judge doesn't make him the Lord of all that is.

Yeah, we know your ulterior motive. It's clear as a bell. You want to be magistrate in the 4th district. Funny, you never say anything about the man behind all this.

Kuhl didn't fire Reams, he had no choice in the matter. Ethics board did it.To answer the question on how they are watching the money, they are still doing bad. They took pricing on health insurance and did not take the low bid which costed the tax payers an extra 70,000 dollars. The only magistrate that voted against it was Westerfield. Whoever tells you any different is a lier. Go check it out it is public record, ask your magistrate, see if he tells the truth. Their reason is that they have been using the same company for years. If you were buying a car and could save 70k from a new dealer, who would you buy from? Is Star worth 70000 dollars more? Let's clean house!!!
