does anyone else get this shot in the hop?? I have had headaches, stomach pains and gained a lot of weight. I also do not drink milk because it makes me sick. I am also concerned about the bone loss. The reason i went on this shot is because my cramping got to the point to where i couldn't get out of bed, it was awful, now i have no cramps but still have pains in my sides. anyone have any suggestions?

Want my advise? GET OFF THE SHOT!

It is NOT natural for a woman to not have a menstrual cycle. Your body does this for a reason!

Why do you think so many women have ovarian cysts and tumors and cancer these days? It's because their reproductive systems are being attacked with these chemicals!

If you want to prevent pregnancy, use a condom or just don't have sex.

If you want relief from a heavy period/ cramping try Ginger and Chamomile teas (at least 2 cups a day), get regular exercise (walking or anything), and FIX YOUR DIET!

The vast majority of medical problems in the US is diet related. We eat garbage and expect to be healthy. WRONG. Start eating right and your health problems will likely go away. My girlfriend is relieved of diabetes just by switching to all organic foods.

This shot is known to cause problems, gain weight especially. There are now implant devices to go into the arm, no side affects like this. It is a good alternative to the old depo shots. The new Iud's can be good for up to 5 yrs, sometimes 10. It takes just minutes to inject in a doctors office. Mechas did mine. No problems what so ever. Took maybe a minute, size of a toothpick, if that. No pain. For young girl it is a good thing, they may have it taken out in the office when they decide to have children. It is also good for older women who may not want a tubal.

The new device goes into the arm though, good for 5 yrs. many young ladies have this implant. I would speak to a specialist about going this route.

I had posted this on the mirena topix.. Has anyone been on the depo shot. I've not been on it for even 2 years now and I've gained almost 30 lbs, before I was just 104 and now I'm at about 127 and I feel like I'm about to die. My back hurts all the time, my stomach kills me and I feel bloated all the time. Has this happened to anyone else? My next shot is due next week I believe and I can't stay on it, I need to find something else, I don't believe the mirena would work, I've never had a child and I need to find something without the weight gain

It will bow you up like a sow. Then there will hardly be any need to take birth control romping around 30-50 lbs of extra weight. I dont know too many men who find that attractive.

IUD's have a risk of puncturing the uterus. You still get pregnant, the IUD just kills the baby and ejects it during the next cycle. It's just copper that's put in there. It kills it before and after it implants onto the uteran wall.

Not the new type! They are white plastic, look smaller than a tooth pick.

I know a family a woman who died who is trying to sue over a birth control shot. They said it caused the 28 year old woman in seemingly perfect health to have a stroke and die and their lawyer says they have a great case. I'm not sure if it's the same shot or not but it was a birth control shot. Well, I sure wouldn't take one after hearing that.

My girlfriend has taken it for years. Long before we met. The only problems she's had in the last year was bleeding once for a week. However if you're having that many problems I'd recommend getting off it. It obviously isn't for everyone.

I've been on it for a few years now and gained almost 30 lbs and I've had some other problems that I can't prove that its causing but I can't stand it. I just went off of it my last shot was due this past two week and I had, had enough. Has anyone had any luck getting rid of the weight from this shot, like how long does it take, or can you ever get rid of it and all the other side effects? I'm really starting to worry.

I would never tell anyone to take this shot!

I find you funny, but I have a very off sense of humor. Most people think I'm a little strange myself so no your not disturbing me in the lest but good try. You would have to get up much earlier in the day little boy to play with this dog. Bark bark

I have had nothing good come from this shot. It is good birth control... 2 strait months of extra stink period sure does the trick! I called the OB/GY worried that I had an infection because the blood smelled like death... and they said that it is "normal to have foul smelling BROWN blood"
PLUS!!!! If you are taking for "a little while", until you are "ready" to have a baby... think twice. After they gave me the shot 3 months ago they gave me a paper to ready while they made me wait in the waiting room to make sure that it did not have an allergic reaction. The paper said that it is VERY common for a woman to NOT ovulate for 6 to 18 months after the shot has expired... even if you just do one shot (3 months dose.) I WAS planning to be on the BC for 3 or maybe 4 cycles and start trying to get pregnant next April... I might not be able to until Fall of 2012!!!!
Read up on what you take... it might F up your system....
P.S. I am a VERY clean person... I clean VERY good down there in the shower. I have been to pee 30 or so minutes after showering and smell the stink of rotten blood. DON't take the shot.
AND "ARCTURUS AXAR" Your an A$$ Most men like a lady with some meat on her bones. Ask around. I am not saying they like someone 400 pounds... but adding 30 to 400 isn't going to make a difference. I think almost EVERY girl under 130 looks bad. The girl said she was up to 127... geeze... why would you tell someone that small that packing on a few is bad. Your the reason people starve to stay paper thin. "question" Don't worry about gaining a few... I bet you look better. Even if your 5'1 I think 104 is too small.
