Hsbc employees, the writing is on the wall. Last I heard, the site doesn't even have a site director. Hsbc has been cutting every corner they can to cut costs and expenses, including cutting bonus pay. I have also heard that there is a hiring freeze now, ".....because the inflow of credit cards has not been what was anticipated..."(That's because VA is going to have all of the credit cards.) I have heard the schedules that have been dished out to their employees are really rotten, especially for those people who have families. I personally feel it is a way to weed out people to try to get them to quit prior to them shutting the doors so there is less payout of serverance packages. Managers will lie through their teeth to your face. Whatever your managers are telling you, BEWARE and GET PREPARED. If you have a family, I suggest you try to start looking for something else so you won't be left out in the cold when the doors shut. GOOD LUCK!!!

Yeah, people have been saying this for years probably since before it even became HSBC. In any case if it does close the workers will most likely get an awesome severance package and would probly make most of thier employees happy anyways.

I worked there until late last summer and I must say I enjoyed every minute of it. Yeah, some managers might not tell the whole truth to employees and if that is the only real gripe you have...then you don't have much do you? I wasn't involved in any cliques and sure didn't brown nose. I just did my job to the best of my ability and guess what? I got paid bonus almost every month I worked there. HSBC is a great place to work. My only regret is that I had to leave when I did. Some of the schedules suck but you are given your schedule when training starts, so in most cases you have a 6 weeks heads up on that.

My husband is employeed with HSBC and I must say that we have assumed something is going to happen for a few months now so he has been preparing himself and our family for another job. They are no longer hiring for Credit Cards, and actually they did hire A LOT of people within the site and new employees for a training that was supposed to have started this past week and a few days before training began they cancelled it. They had to call those people that they had just spoke to a few days back and agreed to hire, told them to give their current employees their notice, and now they're saying they take back what they say about hiring them? It's an awful situation. My husband used to make absolute bank and now it's not even worth the drive. Every month he'd bring home at least an additional $1,500 and then suddenly it just stopped and not by his own hands. Things would be better off if HSBC would just tell the employees EXACTLY what's going on.

We do know what's going on or at least my team does. Were not going anywhere right now. We will start hiring for credit cards again and cml when it fits business needs. Bonus is NOT something they have to do but is an extra incentive to do their job

I guess being an employee there I will work until the door shuts and then I will draw unemployment as long as possible! If you are not happy there then its time to move on somewhere else and let someone else have you job!!

Well a few years ago HSBC really cared about the employee and it was a really special place to work at, now its pretty much come in do your job shut up. It still pays pretty decent for our area so thats why a lot of people cannot quit. People that say go find another job if you do not like it is a little naive or unrealistic many people could not afford the drop in pay or the possible time off without pay so they continue doing a job they cannot stand and it does cause resentment.

Bonus is an incentive to do your best, but they have made obtaining it almost impossible and when you do get it they have cut it down so much you wonder if it was worth it. I know the economy is partly to blame but I could also see where they might be using that as an excuse to cut the bonus pay. In the end who knows.

Whether you agree with me or not but if you have worked there for five years or even possibly three, you should be able to tell the changes and the decline in satisfaction with your job. No more trips, lower bonus rate, harder to obtain bonus, yearly raises lower, harder to flex, benefits cost increased, benefits service decreased. In the end I would find it hard to believe that someone thinks its a GREAT job anymore.

Warcop took over for Rubino and he has been gone for couple months now. They have the site director from IL working at IL & KY both now. They are having a BIG announcement today. A lot of people of worried about this. But is has declined a lot in the last couple years, not nearly as good of a place to work as it use to be. They have also been firing a lot of people for missing goal the last few months. Also heard that if they do close they won't be giving severance to anyone that they changed that policy after they moved the ops dept to India.
