What's the deal with the new law regarding narcotics? The people that needs the medicine has to pay because of the ones that use and don't need!! This world is crazy! Anyone know the details on the law? Requirements?

i don't know, but i think they are trying to regulate the narcotics. i was seen in the doctors office last week for severe headaches and i was put on a beta blocker along wwith a migraine pill called imitrex and a pain pill called tramadol. i had to sign 3 papers there in the office stating if they called me in for a pill count or urine test and nothing matched up that i would be dropped as a patient. i don't know anything about pain pills because i was only on them twice in my lifetime and i am 40 years old. once when i had wisdom teeth cut out and once when i had gall bladder removed. they can call me anytime as i have nothing to hide. but they need to do something , my friends home was broken into in harlan county because someone found out she had a strong kind of pain medication in her home. it's really bad out there.

Its the same ole manipulation deal as always (less for more), more money, more false sense of safety, more loss of privacy, more loss of control and more loss of freedoms.

Its all big $$$$. We should be more concerned about the the crookedness (HIGH PRICES, making less addictive products) of FDA and the drug lobbying done by the pharmaceutical industry.

IMHO there is no doubt about the motivation behind the pharmaceutical industry, drugs is the largest industry in the world. Who isn't taking something, most are taking many somethings? Addicts are just better customers,,,, they consume huge quantities and will not stop (lest they endure horrid sickness of withdrawal) so they are very loyal, spending every dime on it.
BUT,
It's only because they're illegal, that it has become profitable (who wouldn't know this to start with) to deal, and unless there are other opportunities people will continue to deal to pay bills.
Drugs are not the problem, they are the result of a problem.

It's past time to stop destroying families and ruining lives in an ignorant, false crusade against substance addiction. Any substance you can name, can be and probably will be or has been abused at some point.

Just one more "war" we need to stop.

I heard there is something new but cannot tell what it is. If there is something it is just another unjust law that we as the people let them get away with. The founding fathers warned us about people like of no bama and his loyal brown shirt followers. He is working on taking away all of our freedoms. Secret deals with un over guns, agenda 21 and I could go on and on. Watch the movie" 2016 obammas America if you don't get it.
The bottom line is they the evil ones picked medicine to torture those of us who need it. How do think I and many like me wounded and severely damaged in war they sent me to and have to bow down and beg for medicine and they nickel and dime the amounts along with Gestapo agreements that you need to sign. It is against God himself if you ask me!
The whole issue involves plain cut and dry discrimination. It is exactly the same as hating someone for being black. I will go to my grave trying to figure out why anyone would even car what anyone else takes and for what reason. They blame it on abuse. Again, why would anyone care and how does it apply to people who use it as medicine. Even if everyone abused it, why should anyone car or even dream of wasting trillions of dollars on such an imbasilic war. It just makes absolutely no sense at all. It is a complete hitler like authority syndrome. Pure friggin evil this government over control of nearly everything. 60 million laws in this country. Pure and simple insanity by the dictators!

Yep, but the feds did not pass this bill. The Kentucky legislature passed with the help of both parties. In fact, to my disappointment, our Laurel county representatives voted for it.

A doctor's office can force you, as a patient, to do whatever they require to "treat" you.....these laws are going to hurt innocent people who do not seek pills nor sell them. A sr couple who needs a pill to rest & the other who is an alzhiemers pt needs a stronger pill to make him sleep must do a urine test, pill count, whatever the powers that be want. Plus a urine test each time a refill is required? I know insc co's are not going to pay this! jut sayin'

I just went to the doctor and was asked to give a pee test for the first time in 7 years! My question is what if you don't take them just the way they say. And they call you in for a count. I am supposed to take two but I have days I only take one then there are days I need three a day. With arthritis it is hard to know when you will need that extra pill and so I put it back on better days for the bad days and then it can be vise versa. What I am saying is not every month will I have the correct amount. What are they going to do next line us up and hand the days medication out. Watch us take it then check our mouths? GEEZ.

You all have nothing to worry about if you take your "medicine" the way you are suppossed to. Whats the problem, can't sell them for 20 bucks a pop or what? What are you worried about? I don't understand how anyone in S.E. KY can say this is a problem. Every family I know has been touched by the "pill" craze. Come on people, half the young people in this part of the state are hooked on this shit, and you all have the gall to get on here and cry about some kind of "freedom". I have nothing for Obama or even the State legislature. All I have to say is it IS ABOUT FRIGGIN TIME. Couple more years of this nonsence seriously had me thinking about packing up and hauling ass out of KY.

While I am just hurt & fortunately not killed, the driver in a borrowed car, no insurance, no license, no way to fix my car except on my dime! If you're going to do it, give your kids away, live in a tent or cave, throw down all u want just don't get in my SPACE! Go ahead & OD, get it over with or get HELP....it is OUT there in KY!

One dirty hand washing another dirty hand, obedience training for the masses, as always, more to come.

Government, aka a big corporation, works quite well for banks, insurance companies, big pharma, media, military contractors, lobbyists, and for the rich and powerful. But it does not work for people with no voice.

One way Government works for Government;
Problem-Reaction-Solution.
Create the problems, fire up the reactions, supply the solutions that they wanted in the first place.

Happy campers (right)? If people choose to remain ignorant (lack of knowledge only,'NOT' stupid), they deserve what's coming to them and they will get it.

It is a simple thing to do.
Wake up! Get active!!!! Do something!!! Do a little research! We can all do something - no matter how seemingly insignificant.

The conclusion is that some very smart people are running everything and subtly telling us what they want us to think. Stop listening and think for yourself. Not only this, everything.

WAKE UP!!! REAL PATIENTS ARE BEING HURT HERE!! PEOPLE THAT HAVE TRUE ISSUES ARE NOT ABLE TO GET THERE MEDICATIONS BECASUE DOCTORS HAVE BEEN MADE TO SIGN CONTRACTS BY THERE LAWYERS NOT TO WRITE THE STUFF ANYMORE. BY NOT WRITTING THE MEDICATIONS THEY WILL NOT GO TO JAIL!!! A LAW IS TELLING A DOCTOR HOW TO MEDICALLY TREAT THEIR PATIENTS. THIS IS WRONG!!! BASHEAR SAID IF YOU REALLY NEED IT YOU WILL NOT BE AFFECTED, I CAN ATTEST TO YOU THAT HE IS WRONG. MANY OF OUR LAW ABIDING CITIZENS ARE NOW NOT RECEIVING THE APPROPRIATE MEDICAL CARE DUE TO THIS NONSENSE. I PERSONALLHY HAD A DOCTOR QUIT DUE TO THIS LAW AND THE DOCTOR THAT TOOK OVER THE PRACTICE STATED HE COULD NOT WRITE MY MEDICATION THAT I HAD BEEN ON FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. I HAVE A PANIC DISORDER AND WAS TREATED WITH XANAX. SO IT IS AFFECTING OTHER MEDICATONS. PATIENTS ARE BEING TREATED LIKE CRIMINALS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG. I PERSONALLY WISH YOU WOULD PACK UP AND LEAVE KY BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT CONSIDERED ALL OF THE ISSUES!!!!!!!!!!

You people who think this is a good thing are simply ignorant, heartless fools. This law will only cause innocent people who suffer from chronic, severe pain that you people who are in favor of this law could never even imagine living with on a forever basis! The stupid druggies will just order their junk from websites that sell narcotics or keep buying them on the street. You are very simple-minded for adults if you really believe that this will have any true, lasting or positive impact on the current misuse of pain pills. Botton line, these pills are called PAIN PILLS for a reason as a group of pills. They were made for we who suffer endless, unbearable pain with no hope of ever feeling better. We who suffer like this are usually unable to work. This means we live on a very tight budget that you also likely can not possibly relate to. Forcing us all, including those of us who have proven health problems, togo to our doctor's office every single month is terrible! We don't have the money to pay the freaking doctor every single month just in order to get our much needed script. You people disgust me and I almost hope you one day have something happen to you so you will know what we go through every single day with unending pain and no hope except the hope of having something reduce the pain.

I can tell a lot of you that are not against this law have ever accidently gotten addicted to a narcotic. I can't stand people who preach about it. My Doctor even said in his letter that we should all call the state and complain because it's wrong!
